Hear about Alice in Chains reforming. Entire band is reunited except Layne of corse. New singer heard them on VH1 Classics (heart tribute). When Phil Anselmo (vocals for Pantera) sang Would, it was such a perfect mix of two differen't worlds and still kicked ass. Although when the new lead singer came out, I was not impressed at all. I say dump the dweeb and get Phil lol.

hell yeah man, I always dug Anselmo's vocals, but not his attitude. Maybe that's why Cantrell et. al. didn't take him. But I haven't heard the new singer - -all I can say is give him a shot then if not Anselmo is definitely an awesome choice. I'll check it out, and if they release a new album

then hell yeah! I'll listen to it.

I saw Jerry Cantrell back in Toledo a few years ago do a show. It was pretty much the same idea though, he did a lot of AIC songs. Then this past year I saw the new 'AIC' at the Metro in Chicago. It was awesome for the nostalgic effect, however I must say, of course it's not the same thing. I'm not sure how I feel about them performing again, whether I like it or not or whatever. I will say one thing though, Jerry still dresses like the 90's.

I'll have to let you all know how I like the new band. I'm going to the show on Nov.20, 2006 in Denver, CO at the Fillmore. We're getting VIP seats from the local radio station and should be able to make a decent judgement from there. I know very little about the new singer, but Phil A. would be an interesting addition if he can stay away from the junk. I miss Layne and wish the remaining members all the best. B.

My boss just went to see them at the NORVA here in Norfolk last month. He said it was the best show he has ever seen....aparently he has been to a lot of shows.
He said they did a 1 1/2 hour electric set then Jerry broke out the flat top and did another hour and a half of acoustic jams....3 hours total......
AIC.Are they on tour?In the studio?

Alice in Chains, One of my favorite bands of all time. One of the core bands of the 90s Seattle,Wa. era. Along with, Stone Temple Pilots, Nirvana, Soundgarden, etc. Not very many of the core bands left. Some of the more contemparary bands from the era are still together. As far as I know? Live, Trowing copper is a classic. I always liked the Smashing Pumpkins also. But, I dont know of another band that I would put before Alice in Chains, As one of my all time favorites. Stone Temple Pilots would hold the same spot. #one. Replacing AIC. original vocalist, is like replacing, Queens vocals. Possibility to be just as good, But never the original. I like the band, Seether. A recent all time favorite that is all about this Era. [early 90s]. Influence at its best, From the last decade of Rock. { only an opinion}
