Getting ready for bed, but I'll list 'the one' rock guitar solo.
The greatest ever.
Sweet Child O' Mine

Sweet Child O'Mine, greatest... I mean it was good, but isn't greatest pushing it?
Although, it probably was Slash's best, I will say that much. And he hated that song, go figure.
One of the best solos is the first solo of The Four Horsemen, Metallica, and every solo in "Orion," also Metallica (For those who do not know).
Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.

Of course it's pushing it a bit, but it's fun sometimes to push things.
Whenever the questions of great solos comes up, Sweet Child always pops into my head though.
Others that come to mind at the moment...
Hot for Teacher -- VH
Heaven Sent -- Dokken
Stairway to Heaven -- led Zep
Hotel California -- eagles
Smoke on the Water (studio version) -- Deep Purple
Enter Sandman -- Metallica
Jump in the Fire -- Metallica
Instrumentals:
Ice 9 -- Satriani
Cliffs of Dover -- Eric Johnson
For the love of god -- Steve Vai

Lol. I agree with the ones you listed, GtZip.
Scarletrust, Cinnamon Girl rocks, the song is awesome, and the solo he does live.
Peace, GuitarAnatomy.

Huh ?
No one mentioned the master of guitar = Yngwie Malmsteen
A whammy bar virtuoso wizard soloist..etc....
#1. Yngwie Malmsteen - Icarus Dream Suite
(solo is now a ring tone on my cell phone)
#2. Steve Vai - For the Love of God
(solo is now my wake up to work alarm on my phone)
#3. Joe Satriani - Why
( solo is my emergency alarm in case Steve can't wake me)
Not many guitarists can touch these three guys, not even the Grandpa rockers

I hate Yngwie! Lol. I want to be able to play fast like him, but you know, I hate his sound after awhile. Shredders like that lose the soul of the instrument. That is why I love Kirk Hammett, no he is not a player like those guys, nor is Eric Clapton, but they convey emotions, not just random scales.
So, when I name solos... I think of Eric Clapton's solo in Badge, or Steve Winwood's live solo for "Dear Mr. Fantasy," or Kirk Hammett's solo for "To Live Is To Die."
Satriani also annoys me, and Steve Vai I do not know much about.
So yeah, just a matter of opinion I guess.
Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.
