The Who .... a classic
I coudnt pick just 1 !
The Ronnie Earl Live in Europe is a fav. His clean Fender sound is amazing ... great chord work as well sweet soloing !
Totally inspirational stuff
live at budokan ozzy osbourne great recording for live sony
Utopia - Another Live
Mothers - Live at the Fillmore (not for the music, but for the uniqueness)
Yes - Live at the Tsongas (I know it's on DVD, not sure about on CD), so much more feeling in it than the rather sterile Yessongs, and I was there when they filmed/recorded!

Bassman_Dave wrote:Jaco was a hero of mine but I have to say that, hands down the best live album ever was:
The Allman Brothers Band Live at the Fillmore East.
Even Tom Dowd said that was the best live recording ever (don't know who Tom Dowd was? Look him up).
What Bassman Dave from Texas said x 2:
Best live album ever made, ABB @ Filmore East,
a distant 2nd goes to Lives Dates by Wishbone Ash.
fyi, Tom Dowd was a legendary producer for Columbia, he did everybody back in the day.

Wrong information .... Tom Dowd was a legendary producer for Atlantic Records.
He did study physics at Columbia University while working on the Atom bomb with the Manhattan Project before he became a recording engineer and producer.
LOVE is the ANSWER!

Oh you beat me to it!
Yep, Purple was #1 with Cheap Trick and Zepplin next.
It is what it is until it isn't
