You are so right . For me this is the quintessential guitar sound for a band . Marriott's vocals and Frampton's guitar playing , but you have to add to that an extremely tight outfit . Recorded over four nights , but wow what a stunning collection of rock . For me no other band album rivals this.

Best album was Ozzy speak of the devil ... brad Gillis . Raw uncut . Brad came in right at randy Rhodes death . No one could play on that level . It was all Black Sabbath songs but great . Great moment in rock history .
Broken sound isa company representing heavy metal singer songwriter James & looking for the ultimate musicians to back this great frontman.

Agree 100%. The Ozzy with Randy Rhoades Tribute live album couldn't sound any stiffer and boring compared to it. I saw Ozzy once in 91 with Zack Wylde and it pretty snoozy.

In the rock/pop genre.....The Band "Rock Of Ages" is at or close to the top of my list.
Great playing from all, super horn arrangements from Allen Toussaint, and wonderful singing all around...... but that rhythm section of Rick Danko and Levon Helm....wow. One killer grove after another. Their pocket was huuuuuuge.
