Sir Lord Baltimore
Their album "Kingdom Come" was a heavy metal (for 1972) feast. The three-piece outfit from New York played at the Eastown Theater in Detroit in 1973 opening for Black Sabbath. The drummer was also the singer and kept hitting his mic with his drumsticks.

"Black Oak Arkansas" featuring Jim "Dandy" Mangrum playing his washboard as a percussion instrument. Saw 'em live a couple of times in Tennessee. They were a trip.

..and how about Wishbone Ash ? .. Anyone remember them?
"The King will Come"-- killer tune.

They didn't seem so obscure back in 66!

Hell yeah WA was the first double lead harmony guitar band, I met them a few years ago when they came to town. Andy is the only original member but the new kids are great.

Agitation Free, Alamaailman Vasarat, Alphataurus, Art Bears, Art Zoyd, Arthur Brown's Kingdom Come, Arzachel, Ash Ra Tempel, Atomic Rooster, Bacamarte, Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso, Black Widow, Bubu, Colosseum, Comus, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, Culpeper's Orchard, Dun, Dzyan, Egg, Eskaton, Fermata, Gnidrolog, Goblin, Gryphon, Hatfield and the North, High Tide, Höyry Kone, Kahn, Le Orme, Los Jaivas, Magma, Malachi, Morte Macabre, Nektar, Nest, The Nice, Offering, Phoenix (Romania), Popol Vuh, Premiata Forneria Marconi, Present, Quiet Sun, The Residents, Robert Wyatt, Samla Mammas Manna, Shakti, Steve Hillage, Still Life, Univeria Zekt, Univers Zero, Weakling, Weidorje, Yezda Urfa

I'm betting a lot of these were already said but I haven't read the rest of the thread. I basically just took the more obscure ones from my myspace page and copied them here. Also I would have mentioned Negura Bunget, Wishbone Ash, Focus, and Captain Beefheart but they were already said. Anyway basically all I ever do is listen to obscure music.

Hey CR, you left off that band playing at the bar in Star Wars lol.

Good call on Atomic Rooster and The Nice. I've probably already mentioned them before but Aorta, Gun, Tucky Buzzard, The Family and The Streetwalkers are worth looking into.

The band Point Blank had a song "Nicole" or maybe Oh, Nicole" (Verse 1)"I hear you're goin' through some changes, I hear your friends all turned their backs on you. And now you're hangin' round with strangers, just be careful who you're talkin' to" (Chorus) is "Oh, Nicole, my sweet Nicole. Oh, Nicole, sweet, sweet Nicole" Also Shooting Star. They had a few hits in the early 80's. Probably best known for song "Last Chance"
