HAs anyone heard of PULP? From England they were popular in the 90's but did not break out in the US due to the popularity of Oasis, Radiohead and Blur. My favorite song of theirs is "Underwear"

A few years back, my son was playin' with some younger dudes, and I got to play a few gigs with them. I can recall playing Rusted Root's "Airplane". Pretty cool for an ol' 60's fart...eh?

Has anyone ever heard of Jules and the Polar Bears. The singer/songwriter was Jules Shears who went on to host a show on MTV. The produced several albums, none of which are still available. I was able to acquire a copy of "Bad for Business" off of EBay a few years ago and just loved one of their earlier albums entitled "Phonetics". They did some rather quirky stuff, but the tunes were catchy.

Song: Cottage Cheese

not quite as obscure now, but before the new cars hit the scene he really only had a "cult" following

How about son, ambulance? ever heard of them? Their album "KEY" is amazing. Also Wilco is great! Not that obscure though. Great for all ages! Amazing Lyrics, guitar, vocals, percussion. All around probably the greatest Indie band of our time. Very underrated! Check out albums, Summerteeth and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot!

Oh yeah, JW 123's quote" a nod is as good as a wink to a blindman" is very close to The Small Faces album " a nod is as good as a wink to a blind horse, featuring Ron Wood and Rod Stuart
