ANY band in that genre would be obscure to me! Kinda like the boy-bands, or 99% of the reggae or rap or bluegrass or modern r&b - it's all missing from my mental musical encyclopoedia

I remember the video on mtv closet classics (this was of course when mtv still showed videos)

Time to check in:

Family was an interesting band that featured Roger Chapman on vocals and John Wetton on bass. Chapman went on to form Streetwalkers (another obscure gem) and Wetton went on to join King Crimson and eventually Asia.

Here's a few late '80's/early 90's groups that seemed like they SHOULD have amounted to something...

Hardline-Neil Schon, post Journey & Bad English. Pretty heavy sound, good band, never went anywhere.

Shadow King-Lou Gramm, post Foreigner. I never heard one track.

THe Law-Paul Rogers and Kenney Jones (The Who). Petered out in a hurry.
