Alot of the Grunge (Seattle Sound) era. are an influence also, just to many band's to name that I am influenced by musically.
(quote) "Most everyone knows that one of the most influential band's of all-time" is no other than, Led Zepplin.

Dave Mustaine and Megadeth are my ultimate influence. I just feel that Dave is vastly under appreciated. Just the way he approaches his craft and NOW his life as a role model. Just watch the Big four video and watch Megadeth RIP right threw the rain and Mustaine whip out those solos...I just love it!

Re: Bands that infuenced me. I dont have just one.

I can't say this band is my favorite band, due to the lack of technical skills. They played some of the easiest stuff to reproduce, and sounds I would just stumble on playing major chords. Having said that, when Foreigner came out with Juke Box Hero, During a time that was flooded with other great musicians, that was the last straw. I bought a kick ass stereo for my '69 Camaro Rally Sport. That was not enough. I then bought my 1st Washburn (electric), amp, MXR distortion pedal and so on. went broke doing it, but never regretted it for a moment. As broke as I've been for as many times as I have been, I wouldn't think of selling any of it. That amp burned in an apartment fire. The rest of us are survivors :)

Influenced?

My biggest songwriting influence is probably Ben Folds. Even though he's a piano player and I'm primarily a guitar player, the things that he does with melody and harmony are absolutely mind-boggling. There's definitely a lot of his influence in the last few songs that I've written.

And that's not even mentioning his lyrical influence on me.

Tough question. One band or musician? Thinking back I'd have to say the Mahavishnu Orchestra. From the time I began to listen to music as a kid, to the time my basic music sensibilities were stylized in my own path, the MO stands out as a musical epiphany. They just twisted my head inside out.

I grew to like RTF and Jean Luc Ponty's music better than the MO, but my first exposure to them was truly mind blowing, especially Cobham, who became a major influence for me.

Ha. I already answered this question. Time flies.
