Probably AC/DC.
Although by listening to our album you'd say Rage Against The Machine, and you'd be right, too.

1 band - KISS (from age 8, I've loved the passion and energy..."limping as you do")
1 musician - Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater, OSI, Transatlantic, Neal Morse)

I'd have to say Jack White is a big influence on me. Also a big Tool fan, but love the how simple and emotional the old blues guys like Skip James are.

Definitly KISS. I started getting into them when I was 11 (I'm 15 now), and boy, did it make me weird to everyone else lol. "They're so old, they look like freaks, why do you listen to them?".

Ummm....tough to single out a single musician. But since you asked, I'd have to say Randy Rhodes influenced me more than any other. I remember as a kid being blown away by his versitile playing style. Then later, discovering how humble he was off stage impressed me even more! When he died I recall feeling as if I'd lost a close friend...although I had never met him.

As far as groups, well, in 6th grade I went from listening to the Osmonds to KISS (much to my parents dispair). ....altho....Mom did admit she liked the tune Love Gun  And no, I never told her what that song was about... That woulda just ruined it for her; and in all likelyhood, ruined any chances I had for buying future KISS albums.

That one group turned me onto rock n roll opening a whole new world to me.

Although I sing nothing like him, Joe Strummer's been among my greatest musical idols for a long time. Bowie, too, although sometimes I don't think I take the right drugs to understand some of his lyrics. And, of course, what songwriter's list of influences would be complete without the Lennon\Macca combo?
