Hmm.
I like me some good hip-hop/rap stuffs. But...
The beats need some work. If you want to stand out from the 100,000,000 other rappers out there you have to have more of a flow. Your lyrics are like a string of sentence fragments which have nothing to do with one another. The reason Eminem is still famous isn't so much that Dre & Co. backed him (It got him started, I suppose) but that he can tell an intelligent story with his lyrics. He isn't rhyming words for the sake of rhyming words. He's clever with his rhythms, he has a smooth natural flow that is often heavily syncopated too. You have to treat rapping more like a 'percussion-style instrument'. From what I understand (and hear) that is basically what it is. Create interesting things to listen to that can throw off the listener. I don't know about you, but if a song sounds 'stock' in any way I'm turning it off almost immediately.
Honestly, this music isn't absolutely terrible, but it isn't really notable either.
But hey, I really only listen to a few rappers (Greydon Square, Canibus, Immortal Technique, Jedi Mind Tricks...) who all have intelligent things to say. The genre is about to burn itself out. If a few intelligent rappers with something new to bring into the mix don't make some moves soon it may go hollywood. Can you imagine hollywood movie-style remakes of 'classic' rap albums?
And sorry, but it is funny as hell watching a 'white boy' rap about 'makin' paper' and all that stuff. haha.
