THAT was pretty good.

It's a little hollow when you make the change (always on the run...) and the bass line falls away only to have the guitar alone.

It sounds so good, it seems a shame that you can't somehow get that bass note in there.

Kickass "lick" and the vocals sound great. I agree. The bass didn't sound as loud as it should, but I bet it was loud enough if you were there.

Wow! I never really caught on to this when I was glancing through the posts... Dude... your the real deal here... this is great stuff.

I have been going through youtube (what took so long?) and you are my new idol... I am not even worthy of reading one of your posts let alone replying to one.... I will iron my hands and wax the hair off my chest as punishment as soon as I'm done typing this....

Geeez... I thought I sucked before, now I'm sure.... anyone want to buy a slection of guitars, basses and amps???

I'm like totally done....

X!

Paul you have one cracking voice pal. I liked the way you introduced the instruments too, very innovative. I saw something similar in a Cubase advert which kinda pulls the parts you cannot play into the fold.

Question. What do use for playback?

Nice one.

Chippy.

Thanks for sharing it J!

Makes sense Capt. I agree. One thing I could add would be bass organ pedals maybe. That is a logistics question at this point. At the rate I'm going it could happen in 6 months or a year. I do have some big advancements planned for the immediate future.

The bass sounds real present to me everywhere I listened. Capt. Scott was referring to the one spot where I stop the loop and it's just guitar vox and crash. The bottom drops out without the bass. In the original it has a killer run there on bass. Thanks for the compliments!

Woah now. That is humbling. I'm just a dude. I have strengths and weaknesses. Plenty of weaknesses. I just work within my limits and play the crap out of what I can play. THANK YOU!!

Chippy, Thanks man! I'm not sure what Cubase is. I've heard of it. I'll look it up. What I'm doing is 100% live. I record it as I go. Sometimes 2 or even 3 things at once. It loops with a looper or phrase sampler. I have boss RC-20 and a Digitech Jamman. I take pride in having nothing prerecorded. I have old vids where I used keyboard drums. I'm this close to taking them down. I've grown a lot in the past year. Here is a vid that shows some of the footwork I do. It feature the Boss loop station RC-20 before I got the jamman.

thanks to all who replied! It means a lot! Praise and criticism are always helpful if you can field them appropriately and apply directly! :D

I gotta tell ya Neanderpaul,

Although I was quite impressed with your Wicked Games Loop cover, I harbored doubts that the concept of pulling off live shows was sustainable, and was tempted to suggest that you might well be better off devoting your musical energy to assembling a live band.

however,

after scrutinizing this latest video, it appears that you are really developing the live looping gig into a potentially viable music act.

Very cool!
keep on loopin',

Cool Howlin'! Thanks bro! Sanshouheil and JW123 saw me live and I think they consider it legit. Nobody is ever late to practice LOL and my cut is always 100 '/, LOL!

Back in the early 80's there was a guy doing a similar one man gig with looping in the North Jersey area. It wasn't as complex as what you're doing but he was an awesome guitarist. He was mainly doing country standards with a few southern rock tunes thrown in. This is definitely a viable one man act as you're so ably proving. Really enjoyed it, looking forward to your debut on the Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien.

You're too kind Bob. I'm working towards that goal. I've always wanted to play Saturday Night Live! You know I have family in Kansas City. I plan to drive out with all my gear and play there when possible. Hope to shake your hand then bro! Maybe you can take me to your special secret fishing hole where they're always biting!! :D 8)

Very impressive then Paul.
This was what I thought it reminded me off though I know its nowhere close in terms of styles.

I guess doing this your way allows for a lot more ad-lib right?
Thanks for the info.

Chippy.

Another good one, Paul.

Yeah, your act works quite well, live. I enjoyed the heck outta myself when I saw you.

Bass pedals might be nice. It ain't like your feets are very busy, is it?

Actually, I think I prefer the real bass. I wouldn't mind a drum machine, though, if it makes it easier.

It's really pretty impressive, though, seeing a whole band's worth of instruments played by one guy.
