My client and I got some great press!

My client John Adams (Goose) recently released his CD project, and his album was reviewed by YES! Weekly magazine. I'm named specifically in the article:

Bass is often an overlooked aspect of acoustically dominated music such as this, but Pocket Grooves bassist Josh Senic’s smooth walking lines stand out from the opening track “Never Let Me Go.” Of course, the consistent focal point is Adams smooth croon and sanguine songwriting, but it doesn’t hurt that he has so much polished accompaniment.

Thanks guys! :D I'm really proud because this is the first press review of any of my work (that I've been made aware of, anyway).

We had a gig at a local club on Saturday night promoting the album, and the drummer showed up to this show! (our last show at Pour House in Raleigh, NC was just Goose and me -- acoustic, bass, and vocals; the rest of the band didn't bother) Now, if Goose can only get the lead guitarist and keyboard players in line... :D

I'm afraid it's necessary to cover my butt legally. See, as a session guy, the songs aren't my property, and I don't have a legal right to the music. Therefore, I can only refer you to the artist's websites that I record and perform with.

I'm trying to get a contract worked out that will be signed at the beginning of upcoming sessions, which will give me permission to use music clips and full songs for promotion and demo, as well as post them online. I'm in the process of getting that tweeked currently. In the meantime, let me give you some links to check out some of my work:

http://www.myspace.com/johngoose (this is the artist from the review)

http://www.myspace.com/amberdawsonmusic

http://www.myspace.com/jonathanlemmon

Thanks for the encouragement; I'll have some stuff up on Bandmix to listen to once I have permission in writing. :D
