All opinions and advice welcomed...

So, money got tighter and tighter.. cost of living went up and my salary stayed stagnant, and the gigs ain't bringing in enough, so I had this idea...

I'm looking at it as a supplemental thing more than a huge successful thing.. if it does actually take off, my wife can take some of the load off me.

I was certainly curious if this niche even exists, I've only seen bookers on the other side of the fence, so to speak

I'm a prayin for you my man. Way things are going we wont have to worry bout paying taxes. No jobs = no taxes.
I finished my first full week back in the Nursing profession today.
Damn man if I could do something I really enjoyed.
Hell, at least I do have a job !! Better off than a lot of my friends in that respect.

How do you intend to make contact with the venue owners in your service area?

That looks like a whole new business other than what I was talking about or I thought you were talking about.
That does NOT mean DON'T go ahead and do it. IT does mean take a close look at the three good bands you have together and see what is not making
you happy or getting you to were you want to be.
A busness plan affirms what EXACTLY you expect.
BE CAREFUL IN ANY NEW BUSINESS , NOT TO BUY YOURSELF A JOB!!!!!
You have good things going on , carefull not to divide your efforts to much.
I thought you were going to put up a biz plan to put one of your bands on the front page ,you could, you know.

Well.. I figure that I already know most of the bands and most of the venues just from playing the area.. kind of gives me a huge advantage I think.

I've already begun contacting the clubs, and plan to personally visit and pitch myself. Many know me from the bands, and others will realize quickly that I know my way around :)

Not at all... like I said, this is just a small service that I can do on the side to make some extra money. My one band is originals and doesn't make anything really, and the other only gigs 2-3 times a month. So until the originals project pays off (and I'm confident that it will someday), I can't keep losing money without doing something to keep myself in the positive, yahmeen?

Having a foot in the door to start is a great advantage.
Best of luck to you Kramerguy.

A lot of musicians (like myself) have absoloutely no time to dick with (am I allowed to say that on here?) the venue owners. I'd say go for this. Nothing ventured, nothing gained....
