People who feel compelled to post goodbyes on a public chat board are lame. Don't let the door hit you in the ass.

If for some reason I would be leaving this board, I would defenitly post an Hasta La Vista.
I have some friends on here (for my part anyway) and I would want to thank them for their contributions to my musical edifications.
I guess I'm kinda lame like that.
If you were going to be off the board, I would like to have a "good by" as well. Or at least a "f**k off" that way I'd know where I stood.

People come and go all the time in the music world. Same on Bandnmix as in bands. It's all the same. The door swings both ways...

The point is, even if you were moving to Mars you would still be able to access the internet. The ONLY reason people post a goodbye is because they are unhappy with the board. Plus, these people eventually return or still lurk. Lame.

Not always man. At one point, I didn't have the money anymore to afford the internet. So I said some goodbyes. Not here though, I knew it would just piss off people like JD.

But on the Mesa forum, I sold some tubes, and sometimes people still have questions, or sometimes they can go bad just through shipping. But I made a goodbye thread so people didn't think I was being some kind of shady tube dealer who just took their money and ran. I was just in the process of losing my house. I was in the middle of other conversations and e-mails as well.

In the vein you're talking about though. Yea I guess. It doesn't bother me as much. Sometimes I think people just want to see who really cares or not. I think that crosses everyone's mind at some point or another. So it doesn't bother me all that much.

By the way, I'm leaving.. JD just pissed me off with this thread. F**ker!!

To me, it's like people who threaten suicide to get attention. Doesn't work on me. If you're leaving for some GOOD reason. like can't afford internet for awhile, "Goodbye, see ya soon." then "Goodbye, hope ya come back" If it's just, "Goodbye" (hope ya all wonder why I'm leaving.) then, "Goodbye, hope ya have a nice head trip. Don't really give a sh&t one way or another." I love this forum. If I ever leave, I'll let ya know exactly why, and it won't be some bullsh&t reason like, "I don't like what the last guy posted".

Well, I guess I did not think of it that way. I am a streight up guy. I sometimes dont recognise "head trips" because I just aint into all that.
Once had this hot chick telling me all about the stopped up drainin her kicthen. After detailed instruction on how to fix it and an offer to lend my plumbers snake, she just walked off. Her friend walked up to me, slapped me on the head and said "dumbass she's trying to get you over to her house"

This cracked me up when I saw Jimmy posted it. I think one of his early post that I saw anyway said the samething, so I thought damn, hes going to say goodbye!

If I was leaving, I wouldn't utter a peep.

I think I can understand Shredds side of saying bye. If youve been engaged in some form of commerce its good to let folks know. Ive unfortunately had to shutter a couple of companys thru the years and contacted all involved or all that maybe depended on these business is the prudent thing to do.

But, when all your doing is posting on a forum, why should I care if you leave or not, and as someone said If you say bye, you are obviously going to come back and see who responded, so are you really gone or not.

Well....I have a new job, & I won't be o/l as much, so while this may not be an official "goodbye," it is a "well, I won't be around as much."

Now don't laugh...my son's babysitter ran off to the women's shelter after her hubby found her making out with her neighbor...I'm out of work, having finished everything up at the last few side jobs I had...so I'm a mommy now, babysitting my 2 yr old grandson, but at least my son will be paying me ( I think).

I just fed him a PB&J sandwich, so I have maybe 3 minutes before he starts tossing pieces to the pugs & giggling as the jelly soaks into or smears onto everything in the world...so I better say

"Goodbye"
