Welcome to the forums! You may find some of the membership to be rather critical, but there are lot of good lessons to be learned here, and not all of them are about music either. Hope you enjoy your stay =]

welcome & good luck.

Yeah, put up some examples of your work. It'll attract ppl who hear what you do, if they're into it.

You might wanna fill out your profile a bit more, too. What instrument set-up do you prefer? (You simply mentioned you were seeking a "band.")How much & what kinds of experience do you have? Do you sight-read or play any instrument at any level of accomplishment? As a songwriter, how do you communicate your needs to the musicians? Perhaps a snippet of lyrics? Knowledge of theory? Stuff like that...it's pretty bare. Be honest if you're just starting out, but upbeat about your drive to sing/perform. Do you have a mic or a PA? That always shows a certain amount of commitment, so if you do it'll no doubt help in your search, & you should mention it. There's a lot more that ppl could know about you just from your profile that will make you stand out to them.

Not to be critical or anything...

I think that has been proved to be an impossibility. At least at my house. :D

Welcome, All For Naught. 8)

I think you ought to consider giongi2's point about posting something with your singing. Even if the quality isn't the best, it's good to have something up there...

That's fine. Anything to let ppl hear your abilities & tones will work.

Good luck.

Acapella rocks!! It takes talent to sing without music and stay on key through the entire song. It's hard for me anyway... ;)

Anyway, welcome! Lots of great resources here with the membership. Feel free to ask anything and give answers to anything.
