...that this site seems like a really great idea. Glad it's here.

Anyhow, I am here because I'm looking to start a hard rock band in Sarasota/Bradenton area in Florida. check my profile for influences if you're curious. But in terms of newer bands and such, I'm hooked on bands like Chevelle and Bullet For My Valentine. Hard but melodic, ya dig?

Apart from that I just wanted to say hi.

Cheers!

Hi Benny and welcome. You'll always find a good laugh and brilliant advice here.

Bullet is tasty imho :D I love them, even if they come from sheep-sha*****... never mind that, I really am just kidding

Good luck with your project

Thanks all. Yeah I have some recorded stuff from a while back but I haven't recorded anything in a long, long time. I should probably do some of that sometime soon.

Bullet For My Valentine is relatively new to the U.S. scene. I mean they've been played in the U.S. for a while now, but not mainstream or anything. If you don't watch Fuse late night or listen to all alternative stations, you probably haven't heard them (being that they're from the U.K.). Great band though. They're this current generation's Metallica (my generation's Metallica IS Metallica, lol); hard metal yet still melodic, it's great stuff.

Sick Puppies is another great band, by the way. I forgot to list them, but they're killer. THE best new band out there, in my honest opinion. They have what it takes to be the next Aerosmith/Stones. GREAT music, amazing song writing, and an awesome and very gorgeous female basist (Emma Anzai). And from what the women say, a hot lead singer/guitar player as well haha!

Hey there Benny. Welcome to BM bro! 8)
Yes it is a great idea and a great site. It's by far my favorite musicians site!
It's growing at breakneck speed too so you may have some luck here. I have a friend living in Braidenton. Is it still booming with growth?

Bradenton is doing about as well as any place is these days, in that not much is going on at the moment. I mean it's growing, just like Sarasota is, but with the economy being what it is, it's kind of... on pause.

It's also terribly difficult finding musicians to collaborate with on a particular style, especially if that style is modern/alternative rock, being that this is a retirement state and all. And Sarasota being the damn capital of it all, lol.
