This was fun I guess. Just seemed......................... pointless.

Imho, sans, fun isn't pointless. It's an islamic rule that all music must be religious in nature. It's also a fundamentalist christian belief. I see nothing wrong with ppl celebrating life with nonsense for fun. Fun is a huge part of what makes life worth living.

The songs related stories, or described ridiculous situations. They weren't pointless, but satiric & ironic & silly, & designed to entertain on a level equal to a sitcom or cartoon or stand-up act or a simple joke.

Taking serious subjects like a stalker, or psychological abuse, or serial killings, & making them laughable is an art. I wouldn't play this stuff exclusively (neither do they, btw), but I'd play it to make ppl laugh & forget their troubles for awhile, for sure.

Not everything needs a "deep meaningful message."

When you focus on a project for years like I have, it makes it difficult to see "out of that box".
My reference was that it seemed pointless to "me" from my present vantage point. Not that silly or entertaining music itself was pointless.
I have enjoyed the works of the like of Ray Stevens as much as the next guy.
I guess with all the stressors I have dogpileing me right now, I take myself too serious.
