Philby's vocal tips -

If you ain't in tune, you suck.

If you don't feel it, don't sing it.

If ppl like it, you must be doing something okay, if not right.

If it hurts, or you lose your voice after, then you're not doing it right.

Learn your keys to sing in.

Phrasing is important...& so is breathing.

Choose material that fits you.

DO try to learn the frikken words!

'nuff sed

Cornell ain't pop, fool. He may have gone "urban" with the last album, but he'll always be a great rock singer.

Pop is defined as popular, as in radio, as in top 40. Chris Cornell by definition is a pop singer.

Welcome to the site Ken. You have quite a set of pipes and you come off as VERY genuine in your videos. Best of luck with your website.

I'm starting to hate the "pop" term more and more.

I don't. I don't hate pop either. I'm sure there is a lot of pop you love. Why hate the term? That's letting other people dictate your tastes. Disliking something because it's pop is equally as bad as liking something because it's pop.

Well that's the thing: artists [REAL artists] make great, soulful music and then bam! They go for that stupid "formula" that's used with pop songs. The new music ends up being not up to par or even close to their older works. And you KNOW damn well they could still be doing some more great music... but that doesn't happen.
THAT's why I hate it.

End of rant.
Out.
