Got to brag;
Bryn, my 12 yr old son went to UIL Solo Contest last night.
He got a 1 and a medal for his trumpet solo. I dont know anything about all this as I was a jock in school. My wife said a 1 was as good as it gets.
George my 13 year old son made a family tree poster as a class project.
My uncle Joe sent him a picture of my Great Grandfather with his BAND?
Man thats pretty freakin cool. when I get a copy of the picture I'll post it for you all to see.

John, that would be a good guess as to the year. For truth be told I am not to sure. My Grandmother, his daughter was born in or around 1900.
They immigrated LEGALLY at great personal risk, into the U.S. when she was 7 yrs old.
Who knows how many of these Gents are of some kinship to me.
Great Grandfather did not come alone.

That looks like one awsome Texas band maybe even some musical inspiration for good ole Bob Wills And The Texas Playboys.
Any youngins out there ever heard of them?

George, I just love old black and white photos. You mentioned that will someday be a platinum album cover, for YOUR band? I've got a Civil War photographic history book. This picture kind of reminds me of those very early black and white photos. It's interesting to get a magnifying glass and really look at all the details. I was at a bar one time an this old guy was showing everybody a really old black and white picture of him when he was a teenager, but he couldn't figure out where the picture was taken. It was on some city street corner somewhere. I had a magnifying glass out in my car so I got it and looked at every detail. I handed the picture back to him and told him he was in Wichita, Ks. He couldn't figure out how I knew it. A bunch of other guys looked at it with the magnifying glass but couldn't figure it out. There was a newspaper dispenser in the background and in tiny letters it said "Wichita Eagle" on it (or whatever the Wichita newspaper was called). Anyway that's really a great picture, I'd love to see it on your CD cover someday. Way cool!

That pic is truly cool, sans.
Congrats on your kids' stuff, too. Ain't it great to see 'em coming into their own? (Even if it does make ya feel a little nostalgic for their younger days!)
Sue was gone this weekend, & Ian spent Fri & Sat nite here. He just left a lil while ago. It's neat to see him with his lil kid, who looks SO much like he did when he was that age!

Thanks Phil.
Children and Grandchildren are a blessing as well as a challenge.
If I was a smart kinda guy. I would photoshop myself into that photo next to GGP with my axe.
Funny, new info comes to light as family comments. Seems GGP played Violin and Trumpet.
Same as my boys, who by the way would be pissed I got their ages wrong.
13 & 14 respectivly.
congrats

WOW! kind of evidence of the theory about the human gene pool actually being very small; as old as this pic is, all but 2 of them look "very" much like people I've known and met.
(the 2nd from the left standing looks just like my deceased best friend)
I'm glad I got to see it.
Super Cool Pic too!
