I'm at work in a cubicle :( and my hands and arms are in a position like I'm holding my guitar. My face is bunched up as I am feeling the song in my guts. 8) Man I want to be at home jamming right now. More than the usual wishing I was off and playing. I can't wait for 5 o'clock to get here. Rush home, turn on the P.A. and get it!

Amen. In fact I got tired of working about noon packed it in and headed for the house so I could get a early start on tonight. We are playing our usual deal at the Art Shack tonight and for some reason I cant wait to get it going. I even found a little time to add a couple of songs in my profile for your pleasure. The first is a little old but it shows a little of my guitar playing. The second is a song we wrote about a month ago. It starts off pretty slow and bad but it was the first take on the idea and we were trying a new drummer out. this is actually the first song he done with us. But I wanted to get a little feedback from everyone on the song. Im playing bass on this one and it took a few bars or more to get the feel on the song. Ill put up a real good take weve done on it as soon as I can convert the file. Hope yall have a jammin weekend.

Its just another day in Paradise.

Resist the urge. But if you must, go the men's room. Get in a stall. Play air guitar for 10 minutes straight. Now return to your seat as cool as possible and no one will notice.

^

I made it home after picking up my girls. I put some corn, beans, apples and crackers in front of the 1 year old. THe 3 year old slept through the ride home and me carrying her in. I layed her on the couch. Then I got one song in before the wife came in and it was time to get ready for the next day and to put the girls to bed. At least I got the one song played before I had to quit! :D

Last night our granddaughter came over after school to jam on the drums!

Cin picked op her 'ol Ibanez Musician bass that she hasn't hardly played since the mid 80's, and we disturbed the neighbors right good! :D

We jammed through...

"Heatwave", (got the little one workin' out on her new found "swing- feel")

"Summertime" (to slow things down, since we were all tired from the days work and schoolin').

two of Cin and my old originals from the 80's....
"The Joint Was Rockin'" and "I Know You Don't"

Then we topped it of with...
"Theme from The Terminator"...
Which scared the dogs and totaly tired us out! (was great to get it out of our systems since I havent been out playin for a couple of years, Cin hasn't been playin' for a couple of DECADES, and the granddaughter just started playing drums, and hasn't practiced for a week!

Lookin forward to next Fridays Jam session! (now I gotta get some work done)
later

Nice HJ! Really cool to jam with family. I have one nephew and one aunt who plays. Nobody else in my family plays. A lot of us can sing though. You tell your wife I said to keep at it!!

I feel sorry for anyone who has to work in a cubicle. I guess the good thing is you've got something to look forward to when you get laid off, a job in the great outdoors working on America's infrastructure as part of the stimulus recovery bill. Or better yet a career as a professional musician...

Believe me Jimmy, I've got bigger plans for you. Seriously. If I get anywhere with America's got talent and I have an opportunity to pick my guitar player you are on THE TOP of my very short list.

My first booked gig on my little tour pays $500, 55 cents a mile, and 2 nights in a hotel. That works out to $1000. I'm playing mostly originals and only have to play for an hour. I asked if I could play an hour and a half. I'm doing my live looping gig.

I got the gig by word of mouth and my youtube vids. Sweet!

I used to get funny looks for walking around doing air Kung Fu. Now I get funny looks for doing air guitar.
Funny how when things change they always stay the same. :D
