Not my thing, really - that whole Pearl Jam thing just escapes me. The Billy Idol was okay I guess. War Pigs is another I'm not qualified to ...you know.

They seem like a good enough act in their genre, I suppose, but I notice there's no one dancing. If I were gonna make a live vid to advertise myself, I'd try to show not only the act itself, but the audience getting into it. They don't seem to be trying to get the ppl involved. Almost like they're going through the motions, or that they are too self-involved to care about the audience, to me.

They are good players, as far as they go, but I don't think they're entertainers, which is 75% of any live act's job.

No worries. They're good. I'd like to hear em play some originals. I bet that would be kickass.

Hey guys, have been lurking for awhile and thought I'd post a reply on this thread. The band looks good-great players, well-executed. It would obviously be great to see more people dancing, but what the hell...looks like people were getting into War Pigs.

What part of Florida do they play in? I just joined a band in SW Florida (Fort Myers area), and we've been practicing for a couple of months-we're looking for a singer right now.
I play bass, and we have two guitarists and a drummer.

I'll tell you what-in this area, you HAVE to play TONS of classic rock to make it in the bars...we've been learning a lot of Stones, Black Crowes, AC/DC, some Zeppelin, along with some more "modern" stuff (if you consider Pearl Jam and the Police to be "modern"-lol).

Anyway, GREAT forum, great site-I've been a paying member for a few months, and got hooked up with the band that I'm in now through the site.

Carry on!

-Dan

These guys are rockin', but the video production does suck.

I like "WarPigs" the best! (And I was never a big Sabbath fan) I prefer "Faith No More" and "Greenie Magic's band's" version even better.

Thanks,HOWLINJ. They do alot of diferent stuff, They do parttys at a union hall and do nothing but clasic rock. And they do alot of 80s, 90s metal. Im sure the vidio production will get better.

I suppose I'm late to the party, but here goes-

The band sounds pretty solid, good high energy music, guitarist sounded like a monster on leads and pinch harmonics. The video (if it's intent is to be used as a promo video) lingered too long on each song, obviously poor production quality, but that in itself isn't so bad, people can get past that easily. What they wont get past easily is that the audience seems to be missing for most of it. Nobody really came up to the stage with exception to war pigs, and that was not so much.. at the very end of the video, it sounded like maybe 3 or 4 people applauded / cheered.

Just not a good representation. I'm sure (as I've been there), that can be explained away by saying it was a weeknight, bad weather, football game on, etc... but bar owners and people who would book you would just see the band and no crowd and very quickly visualize their bar, with that band in it, and only 4 people sitting there drinking... You get what I mean.

I'd advise them to take the video down post-haste and use audio demos to book shows until they can get some more promising video footage to use as a trailer.

Isn't playing in a band the sh.. Doesn't matter what you play. I especially liked the STP. Sometimes having stuff posted for promotional purposes doesn't always work out like you planned, but I think this video serves its purpose.
