Very professional. The musicianship is excellent. The vox are great.
I like it a lot, being a blues fan / ol beer drinker & hell raiser.
However, it sounds pretty much like every other blues band I,ve heard over the last 30 or so years.
No disrespect inteneded. The genre' has been saturated down south here for a long time.

Hello Stixnfloyd,
I love to listen and comment to stuff on here... though here I am commenting on music I am no expert on with blues.
With any music I subconsciously look for the people inside it; for their own voice and what they are bringing to it.
As others have said, it sounds well put together and very well played.
My musical mind is not in a blues mode so it is likely I go looking for things that people don't seek if they are blues minded; to me though I hear sounds and phrases that could be like someone doing a sort of pastiche of what an R&B band sounds like? Christ though, that sounds far too harsh and I am being over critical... and the track running now is really rocking along and I am enjoying it.
It is probably because it is so well put together that makes me be over fussy with it... a more garden shed sound and I would just take it at face value and enjoy it.
In some ways you and I are in the same or similar boat: you play a music genre that very few people like these days, and I play one that no body likes!
Good luck guys,
Mark D Phillips...................

Blues is far from a dead art or genre' in the STATES. Many southern bar n grill will mix blues and country or jazz. New Orleans I am sure (though I've not been to the Big Easy in years) still hops with blues players and that soulfully sorrowed sound. Much of it is deep in the indy Gospel music from which it sprang.
It did not all pass with Curtis Lowe.

Man, I'm lovin' this. I guess I didn't expect to get such valuable feedback. Thanks you guys. It's good to get a fresh perspective. As you can probably tell, the meat of our sound comes from the 'power trio' within the band. Our guitarist is the youngest member and although he has pretty good chops, he seems to approach the genre from more of a rocker's perspective. We basically are hired hands, providing the backing to what was formerly an acuostic duo. I'll post one of their songs shortly. Peace.--Floyd

S&F - I've loved "Hootchie Cootchie Man" ever since I heard my 1st exposure to it on Steppenwolf's 1st album! Your version is pretty cool. I like the subtle echo on the vox. Pretty stripped down sound, & that's how this song should be done - down & dirty! I'm not a harmonica fan, though, & this guy seemed to rush things a bit in spots. Keeping that slow tempo is the key to this tune, & it's harder than most ppl think. I always wanna rush it & rock it up. Takes every bit of control I have to keep it at this pace. Well, done, for the most part.

"Wishy Washy Woman" could use some barroom, seaside or streetside environment sounds in the far background. This sound is just too clean as it stands, for me. This needs more of a live sound, imo, & the addition of some environmental noise would give it that, & warm it up a bit, or make it more personable. Just a thought. Good performance, though. Love that standup sound!
