I can't remember if we have anybody here from the Jackson or Vicksburg Mississippi area, but I've been wondering if either place has any kind of open mic nights going. Anybody on here from those areas who might know or be able to point me to somewhere I could find out? Haven't seen anything on Craigslist, might drop- a post in there and see if I get any info too. Nothing around here for sure, or south Arkansas...nothing but really small towns. Shreveport maybe, I'll have to check there too. Anyway, if anybody has any info on those areas I'd appreciate it.

Why don't YOU start one, Pete? You'd get to play, & make a few bucks while you're at it, & meet new ppl to play with, too.

It's pretty much the standard in open mic night listings.

Hey Pete,

Heres a couple of #'s that "could" help. DET Delta Entertainment Agency. Jackson, MS. 601-956-5495 outta Jackson booked our whole SE tour back in the mid 80's.Jimmy Saaka was in his 60's then, dont know if he would still be there.Ask for him first. If ya get him, tell him that crazy drummer from "Southwind" refered ya.He'll SH** his pants.. .Heres a couple more Ive found but dont know anything about.
CAI ENTERTAINMENT 601-981-1100

3023 W Northside Dr
Jackson, MS 39213

FRASCO ENTERTAINMENT AMERICA 601-879-3835

216 Nw 4th St
Flora, MS 39071
18.7MI from Jackson

Alotta times in the past, when moving to a new state (13 times), I would call these #'s outta the PH book just to get some names of people who knew what was going on aound the area. I know youve prolly thought of this too, but times are ALOT tougher for US compared the hayday of the 70-90's.And these times call for leaving NO stone overturned/un turned? (overtuned??is that right?. ).Also, Check out the "Capitol Beer Lounge" in Jackson..It used to run 4 nites week with SUN being a 12 HR jam.Checkout the "Edgewater Supper club"on the Lake..Ill be you could get a single acoustic job there now. I played there 7 DAYS a week from 2PM -7PM..That was a gig to DIE FOR.
The Bill G gen has just about put us outta bis but maybe some of these places will at least put ya onto some leads.

John

Thanks Kramer, that site turned up a couple not extremely far away. MIght be doable, only one is over an hour, and Shreveport is one of the places I'm looking at anyway.

Kidd I'll check into those, will have to get on here later and write numbers down etc.
