Hink,
How are you? Sorry to hear about your dad, man . . .
.
Welcome to Bandmix. :)
.
I wanted to ask you about your cryptic reply, about a dulcimer. I didn't want to be rude (by not answering) but I had to get out of that other conversation. Much anger there . . .I'm into POSITIVE vibes, like you.

Anyway - yeah, I love the sound of a dulcimer, but geeez - what a lot of work it must be to BUILD one! Man . . . .
.
When I get around to installing the proper software on my computer, I'll be able to collaborate with others. I'm temporarily limited to 60 second sound bites . . .

I've got a couple intricate finger-picking songs that'd go NICELY with a hammer dulcimer.
Can you play a hammer Dulcimer now, or are you intending to learn after you've built one?
Alan

first, thanx....I plan on learning, but keep me in mind on the collab thing...not only do I have a lot tied up in gitars I've got 3-4k invested in soft synths and other audio software... :)

Hink,
I just listened to your posted song, Azimuth. You know your lead . . .
Not what I expected though, my friend - sorry - I don't do metal.
I do acoustic rhythm guitar - with lots of chords.
But, I see you also list rock, and Blues, alternative . . .
What type of music would you play with a Dulimer?
.
Maybe you want to check out my profile, to see if any of our music is compatible.
If you right-click on my picture, at the left, you can open my profile in a 2nd window. You can see what I'm into.
.
I posted (acoustically), 4 different styles of music I do. One night I just sat in front of the computer & plugged in (built-in pickup).
Each cut is under 60 seconds (the Win XP Max.)
I do all originals . . .
Be well.
Alan
Don't know if our music is compatible . . . .

the problem with being able to post one song...try these

http://www.soundclick.com/util/getplaye ... 51969&q=hi

http://www.soundclick.com/util/getplaye ... 35805&q=hi

http://www.soundclick.com/util/getplaye ... 91773&q=hi

http://www.soundclick.com/util/getplaye ... 92617&q=hi

I tend to bounce around a lot...I don't have a genre, just what comes out....in short to answer you question, I plan on using the dulcimer to take me somewhere I haven't been yet....fwiw one of my favorite bands is Queen just for the reason :)

Hink, I tried the links, and I go this:
.
"This window starts the SoundClick player. If you have enabled a pop-up blocker, you can click the link here:"
.
When I clicked (play the song), nothing happened.
.
Gee, sorry about that . . .
I'll try again, after this reply . . . .
.
As for posting one song - yeah, you've got a limited amount of Mbytes available. If it's a long song, you'll only get one.
I was able to post four, because they were each 60 seconds or less . . ..
.
You tend to bounce around a lot, huh? Hey, man, I think that''s a good thing. :)
It alleveiates boredom, & keeps you creative & fresh . . .
I've written about 30 songs, and I think they're in about 10 different styles. :) See my profile.
.
I had a friend, about 20 years ago, who bought a hammer dulcimer, and taught herself how to play. She never got really good at it, but every once in a while, it was GREAT.
And, she was never a musician. You ARE, so I'm sure you'll pick it up quick enough . . .
What a sweet-sounding instrument . . . .
You building yours from a kit or something?
.
Hear my stuff, yet?
.

Mastervolume,

I hear you. I got an out of date Imac from 1998 and a tascam 4trk cassette machine.

Google Audacity.
Download the appropriate stable version (not the beta) for your operating system and give it a try.

What the heck, its free. Seems to work ok on my old Imac. Seems pretty simple to use. Thats my plan anyway.
