My band Aint Yo Mama is playing a thursday night gig tonight.

We have pretty much stuck to sat nights thus far, but had an opportunity to play for a Ladies Night at a local bar in Memphis tonight. This establishment is a corporate kind of place with 5 other bars in the Memphis area plus one in Jackson TN. So hopefully it will lead to some more quality gigs that get a lot of exposure in our area.

Kinda mess's up the week but I decided to take off tomorrow from work so it will start a long weekend.

We actually have a couple of weekends off after this gig. I may have a pick up gig with some guys I used to play with who are having guitarist issues, Imagine That!

We are going to cut back to 1 or 2 gigs a month. I had us so busy the last few monthes that we had to pass up on some really good paying gigs that fell in our lap. We also are wanting to do some outdoor biker type gigs over the summer, and its time to start putting those things together now. I would like to get the guys together a couple of times and throw down some more songs. We have gotten really tight lately. We are loose in our approach but everyone is really on their game lately so it would be a good time to do some recording and who knows we might even lay down a few originals. We are pretty spontaneous so who knows.

Philby, Im taking tomorrow off so going to work isnt an issue. You never know I could be called in thou. 2 of our members do work tomorrow so it will be a long day for them.

Thanks for the props guys and as I said since its ladies night I should get some good pictures to post.

Ive seen these pics before, but dont remeber that "blonde"? Whats CRIP doing down in TN :lol:

..Well, Im not gonna cry TOO hard about your THUR shedule being "messed up" :lol:

..Im happy when I hear of anyone getting to play a weeknite nowdays. I gigged some in Memphis (Bad Bobs)
and a few others in the 80's. Great music town for sure.

Everyone likes pictures.

Heres a few from our Thursday Night gig.

It wasnt packed but the guy that hired me said it was the biggest Thursday night crowd theyve had in a long time.

We had a different person taking pics, so I didnt get what I ussually do.

One I included shows Kevin our singer standing on this little narrow rail in the middle of the club.

Also the picture with all the chicks at the table, the blonde on the right is my wife who is divorcing me. Go figure, she says you sound better than you ever have and my friends love you guys. They all got t-shirts, strange world we live in.

Anyway thought I would share few pics with you guys.

One more addition, The pic of the two gals dancing, they are strippers at a local club and gave us a big wad of free passes for admission and free beer coupons. Some times being a musician gets you some weird swag.

Anyway everyone have a great weekend, Im off to blow my paycheck er ....................... I mean Im off for some R&R..............................oh whatever

Congrats jw, sorry to hear about your divorce been there twice, looks like a great crowd and a good time.
Don't feel bad I have had my 2 exwifes and my current and last wife (I hope) at gigs a couple of times. I finally learned how to pick um and how to treat um. It is always hard when they show up while your trying to get over them. Enjoy your R&R :wink:
