Not sure if any of you have stumbled accross this article yet, but well worth a read. If you tune/inonate your own stringed instrument, the article gives a great overview of different intonation techniques advocated over the centuries, and then gives the author's 2 cents on the topic as well as some practical information on tuning your own instrument.
