It,s a dad / family thing.
My eldest son George and I (he's 14) are working out the details for him to play on the verse parts of the NKF tune "My Sweet" on his violin.
Not sure if he will play along with me or perhaps I will layback and allow him to carry the fill on the verse, and then I'll do the heavier parts in the chorus and bridge.
I am glad he accepted my challenge.
Now to get Bryn to play some trumpet for us as well

Yeah man, a string ensemble would sound good on that tune.I can hear some counter melody with the vocal it could provide.Yeah, trumpet, with a mute, to make it sound like a floogle horn or corinet would sound good too. They could work opposite eachother in the choruses.Do nice fill workand layering during the verses. May the woodsheding begin.. :D

Hi, sorry I have been MIA but I have been doing a couple of projects that were keeping me too busy to visit.

A violin would be excellent on "My Sweet". I wish that I could hear your rehearsals. I am hearing both bowed and pizzed licks.

I love it when you step out of the "guitar-driven" box & use other instruments to enhance your overall sound. It's even better when you can get some help in this area from your family.

You are on to something very cool, sans. Keep thinking & working on it all.

Thanks my friends. George has only been playing orchestra for a couple of years, yet I am glad to have him involved. He can read music already  which is a skill I totally lack. He does seem to have some difficulty doing his own composition. (this will be his first)
I dont want to pressure him too much, so I will keep it real low key.
Bryn actually plays cornet, and prolly better than the average 13 year old Kidd so we will see what transpires.
Mary I would that I had your classical experience to help guide my sons musical growth. But alas, I ignored music for all to many years in my youth.
