im getting ready to record this song ,thought I would share the words with you all,I always write about how I feel and lately this is it

whatever happened to America ( words to original song)

Whatever happened to america
She stood so great and so tall
she fought for freedom, justice and liberty
now dont anbody care at all.
Whatever happened to america
polluted waters and skies.
destroying the enviroment, for the price of technology
all that I can do is ask why
Whatever happened to america
no more prayers in the schools
she lost her morals, then her dignity
dont sound much like america to me.
( Chorus )
So sing the anthem out real strong
show the world their all wrong
make the difference,it starts with you and me.
and show the world ,why were all proud to be
Americans
Whatever happened to america
hungry children,living in the streets
wasting money on weapons and wars
when theres so much else that we need
Whatever happened to america
a country for which, many of young men died
they lost their lives, so others could be free
are they just forgotten memories.
( Chorus )
Whatever happened to america. (repeat and fade ) Written by ken crabtree

I like it ghost. But! (you knew that was comming)
Not to get all political, then again why not.
Freedom is not free.
The sad fact of human existance is that the price of liberty is blood.
The only drawback to a free society is that it is a double edged sword, cutting both ways. We are free to do what is moral and just in reguard to or fellow man. Or to do that which is greedy and unjust.
Aside from that, I am looking foreward to hearing your song as a completed project.
I like the "revolutionary tone" of the lyrics. Its what rock is all about IMO.

you are absolutely right and I like those words( freedom is not free )I personally believe that our goverment has sold us out ,so I am fighting the only way I know how (Legally ),with my music.I have lots of material like this, songs to fill a cd and I plan on recording and releasing them. Yes I want you to be political and no I dont expect everyone to agree with me,as a matter a fact I wouldn,t have much respect for anyone if they agreed with everything I said, but our problem is that we dont get to vote on things of major inportance to us all ( case in point the bailouts ) wether you agreed or didnt it was shoved down our throats,They say we have representatives, I say the only thing they represent is their own ideas or special interest groups ( Let us vote on it and if the majority agrees ,I can then live with it ) thx 4 listening to my rants and glad you liked it

That's why I was not present on Bandmix for a while....went to Michigan over Christmas and then Florida for the New Year. The time goes by so quickly when you are with loved ones. Oh well, back to reality!

Ghost:
I am with you brother!
Although our music is Christian (Law and Gospel) based. If you take the time to really listen to the lyrics and style its pretty revolutonary as well.
There are many parts of the whole that is our society that no longer functions as intended. Tradition standing in the way of progress.
Its natural for us to manifest our frustrations in our music.
Rock on !!

Not bad. Quite relevant and sounds like it's straight-up how you feel bout it. One part sounded a bit dull though (now don't take offense):
ghost 62 wrote:Whatever happened to america
no more prayers in the schools

Now who are you gonna pray to? Jesus? Buddha? Moses? Education is run by the government and you have to remember that it's kinda separate from the religion institutions/groups.
I mean, think bout it. You'd be offended if you went to school on a Monday and some teacher tells you to say this prayer that you don't believe in.. right?
Anyways, just my 2 cents or whatever.

yea I knew I would hear it about that line  I was talking about morals more than anything ,but to defend myself Ill disect what you said 1st off you can pray to whoever you believe in and that means atheism too because atheism is a belief just like religion. Its the belief of no god thats why its considered an ism,2ndly education is supported by me and you paying taxes, when politicians start pulling money out of there own pockets then maybe ill consider the gov running schools (do you remember when you went to school ,they didnt need the lotterys to pay for us to goto school ,what happened to the money ? that they have to have a lottery just to operate them now gees I wonder if their kids go to private ) and lastly yes I would be offended if my kids went to school on monday and some teacher tells them its allright to be gay, something that I dont believe in right ?you cant have it both ways  anyways thats my 5 yen seeing that our money aint worth a crap anymore ps thanx for the comments 8)

Decent argument, however weird lol
Now, I think we can agree that the guv has bout 200 hands in our pockets and we're sitting ducks.
Sure we pay to run the schools, but they own it all... through the laws that they made.. I mean, the founding fathers! Kinda sad, eh? But it's true.
Now, the point you made bout gays is really irrelevant. Sexual orientation is not like religion. I've never seen a (literally) "gay" organization not pay taxes to be honest.
If you wanna be honest bout it, it's more of a cultural thing. Our culture separates religion from everyday functions.

yeah I agree I am weird but just sometimes  bottom line im glad you liked it other than the one line and like I said I dont expect everyone to agree .its just a song based on my personal opinions.

YES!!!

I LOVE songs that make the user "assume" (even myself!)

I agree...I may dis-agree...
But you verbally through a wrench at my head...
I personally like that.

Make me think! Make me question!

Jesus Freak or Tree Hugger?
Do I agree with this song?

It's not the answers that matter...but the questions brought up are what makes your lyrics brilliant!

Bravo!!!!!

Nah, I don't think you're weird. I dunno you. I thought your argument points were weird, but it doesn't matter, I suppose.
Like I said, keep writing.
