So I took the plunge and subscribed to bandmix in hopes of finding others to collaborate with. I've made contact with an accomplished drummer here in San Antonio and I'm looking to find some others who are interested in starting something fresh. Check out the tunes on my profile. I've got more at http://www.cptobvious.com Need a strong vocalist/lyricist to bring these tunes to life. Hopefully something comes about from this. I appreciate all the support from this community!

Hey Erik,

Man , you got some great material!!!.I went to your site and found a really good genre/style mixture with some very interesting orchestrations. You get some great acoustic gtr EQs.(how do ya get that pick noise out. ).Spent alotta time in Sanyann back in the mid 80's.GREAT music town!!!. Yeah its funny,I was 29 when I got my "BABY"(Ensoniq SQ1) and went NUTs with all that edting power/instrument choice (state of the art for 1989.. ) writing a tune every day.My old stuff closely resembles yours in alotta motifs..Yeah man, Im sure you'll find some takers. I hear alotta good vocal melodies in those arrangements.

Welcome to the board !
John

Hey John,

Thanks for the support. You know what's crazy is I grew up in Morgantown West Virginia. Small world huh? I'm hoping some of this pans out. Just bought some new gear for gigging. Really making a concerted effort to get my music out there. I'll be sure to let everyone know how it goes! Thanks for the warm welcome!

Very creative stuff and well done, I like juts about all the songs in your profile, the ones without lyrics I found myself humming melodies to them
wondering why you didn't sing them you have a good singing voice, good material never the less.
Good luck with your quest.

BTW: Hope your guitar passed the physical.

Hehe, yeah it did. I actually just bought a new one yesterday. Decided to upgrade to something more "stageworthy" hehe. Purchased an ESP EC-1000 Deluxe in Vintage Black. Very sexy. Haven't had a guitar in a long while with active pickups but the EMG's on it seem to have enough life.

Also grabbed a digitech RP-500. I use the on-board effects from my Yamaha digital amp but the effects can't be controlled on stage without a midi controller, and I don't have the patience to learn how to program it. Glad you like the tunes. I just wrote one last night I'll be posting here shortly. Heavier but melodic at the same time. Gotta love the endless possibilities of music!

Hey Erik, listened to your sounds and it's very tasteful. Love the acoustic work. Keep it up and hang in there. Remember, it's not what you know, it's who......
