Just got home, we had our CD release party for the Valerie Nicole (project) that I'm in, basically a gig at a local coffee house, catered, mass invites, cd and merch giveaways and door prizes, etc.. to launch her new full-length CD.
For a band that formed a month ago (well, we all joined her project), we knocked it out of the park, packed the place, did a 2-hour show, 29 songs in two sets. I almost feel like I gave birth lol, all that cramming in roughly 30 days!
Great first night out!
And on top of it all, the local news showed up and set up a camera and filmed us for a couple of songs!
Wheee!

Having a good looking babe who's talented in the band is good for PR. Hopefully you'll enjoy your new gig. Sounds like a great start.

Congratulations! That is impressive 2 hour show after a month together. To me that impressive. "cramming in roughly 30 days!" you mean "all that
kramering..." I am happy for you man!

Sounds great, hopefully success will brings in some cash unless you guys are satisfied with just playing for enjoyment, which is not wrong, but with some $ makes it more sweet.

Well last night we hosted the party, but yes, in the future, we will play for $$. I have another band for local gigs, cash, and enjoyment, this is the much more serious project

I'm jealous! Two bands and I'm having trouble finding one...Bite me!
Just kidding of course. Glad things are going well, sounds like it's working out worlds better than my last attempt, which turned out to be a nightmare but I did get to meet a couple of the guys on here out of the deal.
Best of luck, I hope it just gets better.

No no, dont start with 10 miles a day. We dont need another fat dead musician to mourn.
I began with weight training (dumbells, push ups, reverse push ups, crunches, and some squats) warm up on the B.O.B., two minute rounds and grappling with my 230 lb friend. (ouch)
Irrelivent I know, point being 30-45 min TIW and you can get yourself into "playing" shape.
May your success contine to grow.
