Disclaimer-- You have logged on to a website that the musicians here are blatentely honest with their opinions and sometimes feelings get hurt. So be forewarned.
Allow me to be the 1st.
Standard blues progression, not my thing. Like more originality.
Vocals right on key.
Lyrics for the most part been done to death.
Overall, just another blues song, imho. Not bad, it might sell.. who knows? Depends on the target demographic , your agent's sales ability, and the label, if you're signed.
<edit> listened to your Bandmix downloads just now-- G-spot sounds promising if it had vocals. The last one kinda iffy...

Nice mix, Koy. Where the hell you been, man? Bass should be up a little bit, imo. Other than that, it's a good blues thing, but it doesn't really wow me or nuffin.

Hey, a quick question - if being "disgruntled" is a bad thing, would it be a good thing to be "gruntled?" It doesn't really sound all that good, does it?

I could see someone in an office getting their yearly review. The boss opens up by asking if they're happy with the job, & the interviewee responds. "Oh yes. I'm quite gruntled."

We used to call underwear "grunties," for some unknown reason. I wonder how that would apply to the word "disgruntled." Hmm....perhaps it is best not to delve into things too deeply at 3 AM.

Dude, thats just the thing s I was looking for. I hear what you are saying.
It is totally just 1-4-5'ed all over the place. And the lyrics are in a million other blues standards. I get that. But you got to admit, the groove and feel is there. We just finally got a way to get something down on tape, so it was all done kinda at the drop of a hat. And I guess it kinda shows. Whole thing only took about 45 mins. to put together. I think you will like the next one way better. Watch fo it!

LOL since zxyz prefaced it.

I just plain didn't like it. I gave it a listen yesterday and found it overly mundane.

Don't be insulted, 1 opinion is merely that and what a few people think really doesn't matter much at all.

If I could offer a suggestion, I'd say speed it up.

Sounds professional but boring. There is just nothing fresh, no angle, no surprises. The bass needs to come up like Philby said. Good sound quality and mix other than the bass. Good musicianship.

Nothing wrong with the voice except its the wrong one, needs to be bluesier with way more soul, tempo up a bit and the overall music tone is a bit too "brassy" for me whatever that means. Has possibilities maybe though.

Yeah, well it's not all nicey-nice here all the time, Koy, but thanks to these good folks I've learned a lot of valuable information about tonal qualities, internet mixing, songs that suck vs the ones that dont, level settings, etc; plus a wide variey of inputs (broad cross-section) of people with different musical tastes helps a lot. Of course you can always choose to ignore some posts and go with the most common (frequent) observations in order to hone and fine tune your songs. It also helps to put something up on myspace, youtube etc and see how many hits and comments you get there (if you havent already done so.) You are a talented musician. Good luck and please post again. Positive comments are also known to happen here :D
It's hard work writing a complete composition (as we all know). I've thrown together a song or 2 quickly before and been bashed about for it, but when I take my time and try to do the best I can (I've learned this here too) the results seem to come out a lot better. I'm admittedly not a lyricist, I cant write lyrics so I usually post that frequently up front.
Again, good luck with your endeavors. Looking forward to hearing some more of your work. You can also post without asking for a critique and we'll listen and you wont hear any input usually. Just post "New song up- no critique needed"

I need to change that "We'll listen" to "I'll listen" or "Somebody will listen"
I cant speak for anybody here other than myself
I'm PUI again (posting under the influence ) -this time it's a pain pill. My back's been giving me trouble again..
