Good ol' Larry said "diminished are symmetrical"
NOW I get It! :D
and to think i have been wastin' time on keyboards all these years.

Actually, these instructional videos can be really helpful. Ive learned a lot from a Steve Allen video cassette that I got years ago on Jazz piano tricks and techniques.

Lately, I have been checking out some basic drum stuff on You-Tube to show my granddaughter on her new drums. I played with many solid drummers over the years, and am astounded at how ignorant I am about actually tuning, setting up, holding the sticks, and beatin' on them.

I may check out more of this guitar stuff too.
Thanks for bringing it to my attention, Phil.

Howlin'

Good info in the 1st video but that cat had a confusing way of getting the # system across when pertaining to the chord scales.I would have done it more in order as it pertained to the scale of C callin out the #'s as I went..He shaped up there at the last. He was leavin out several changes in his explanation. I dont think of the sus 4 and the 7 as an 11th chord ..I play a 9th add 2. The 2nd video was good depicting the note postions in the arrp. form. My way of thinking unfortunatley has always been find the arrp. within the postion itself. Cuts way down on the possiblitlies. Yeah , we jam a tune called "Swing 51" that has alotta those changes in it.
Thanks for postin.

John

Hahaha.. Where'd you find my old guitar teacher???

That's exactly the stuff he'd try to teach me in my first weeks of going. I hated it. He'd just play like that for 45-minutes, then give me really basic exercises to do in the last 15-minutes.

Damn, that actually gave me flashbacks. The guy even looked and talked like that too. (the first guy)
