Hello folks looking for some input if you like country let me know what you think Thanks Cheers!

Very professional production on the Dreamland Promises tune. Nice guitar work. I like it. Not a fan of typical country, but I like good music, & this is good. Just let the girl sing on the "came into my life" tag. Other than that, it's perfect, & the strongest of the collection.

The Zone thing is okay. Not crazy about it, but it'll go well with the "Ghost Riders In The Sky" crowd. Too close for my comfort in the production & overall style. Doesn't work for me, lyrically.

Hiding Place is a sweet melody. I don't like the way the lyrics flow, for some reason. The vocal isn't as good on this one. You shouldn't slur from note to note this much. That isn't your strong area, imo.

Snowbird is a good memory for me. You have an excellent voice for your choice of genre. Nice pedal steel work. Great harmonies in your stuff, Grant.

Country Soul is good. You have a nice blend of old & new styles throughout this stuff. It almost sounds like classic country in places.

If I Could is a little weak. Dunno why, but I'd not use it in a collection. It just doesn't grab me at all. Prolly just a personal thing.

Play a Love Song - don't like the talking instead of singing. The bouncing back & forth does nothing at all for me. It might work in another song, but not this one. Lyric seems a bit too cheesy.

Your productions are very good, for the most part. Perfect country voice. Great chicken pickin', & I'd like to hear more of that. I love your strong deep voice. Your music sounds a lot like some of the greats that I've heard from birth on various juke boxes. I'd like to hear some more original stuff from you that is truly different from everything else, though. That's a real challenge, & I can't seem to do it, either.

Keep in mind that I'm pickier than a lot pf ppl, & not a huge fan of your genre. You've done very well, here, though. I am impressed.

I have listened to your songs as well Grant. I bounce around and listen to a lot of music around the forum.
You talent is obvious. It would be senseless for me to critique your genre'.
Country is just not my thing. It is good to have another talented musician around though.

Great guitar playing Grant, your voice of course make the songs, like I said in the other post, I have the feeling that you are one song away from hitting the country chart with some willing promoter and producer, you have the right tools.

yes Snowbird is a cover an old anne murray tune but we are working on some new ones for the next cd thanks for all your input you all had alot of great points Cheers!

Hello Grant, you have a great voice man, there are times your tonal quality reminds me of George Strait in your higher range, but you can sing low also, good production, love that twangy Tele. good luck with your search for a lead player I would insist they play a Tele if I were you!

Love your music. Not the biggest fan of country. But I do like it in small doses.

You are just as good, if not better, then what is out there right now in the country field of music!

I don't think you need that much of it though

I'm not a massive country fan frankly though I do tune in to it to clear my senses. Great voice, fabulous guitar work and very well produced.

I don't like fade outs, I think the song should have a finish myself.

There has been a lot of bad (or at best, mundane) Country music out over the years. It's no wonder that so many of us claim to dislike the genre.
There was a time when radio combined many styles of popular music on their play list. I can recall hearing Glen Campbell along with The Beatles and the Temptations. I believe that most people would get into other styles of music if they were exposed to it.

Grant Daniels Band is a good example of what any one with ears would regard as good music.

I often said that I don't care for Country music, but Cin and I have been listening to Patsy Cline (usually on Saturday mornings) for years, and I still love to play and sing Dave Dudley's "Six Days On The Road". Makes ya wonder.

By in large pop-country has severly degraded Country and Western music in much the same way pop has degraded rock and rap has degraded soul.
A lack of original lyrical ideals in many genre or a deversion to vulgarity and perversion has made much of many genre' detestable noise.

sans - isn't that what makes it all so "progressive" & modern? LOL

For the record, I'd say that r & r is what ruined country music...well...that, & the corn. There's an overwhelming desire by some acts to stick to outmoded ideas while embracing modern styles of arranging & recording- they just don't mesh for me. Many many acts are way overproduced, using wailing grungy guitar effects, while the singer begs for a return to the simplistic (or female empowerment). It's become laughable.

There are a few exceptions - Dwight Yokem & Alan Jackson come to mind - but the flag-waving & the cheesy love stuff will never appeal to me. It's hard to write good love songs, even harder to write good patriotic tunes, & I'm not seeing too much of that in any genre.
