Ive downsized this last year from 20,ooo watts to 6000 watts now I am at 800 watts from tower speakers to peavey PR15s I was leary of them but they surprized me they sound great 400bucks for the pair light and easy to move I can carry both at the same time!! 800watt crown and a beheringer compressor and a pro beheringer EQ and your good to go!! Peavey sound board 16 channel , Peavey is good reliable eq for the road!!I expected to need a sub to go with those Pr 15 however they had plenty of lows and very clear

I bought the behringer 6 channel PA set from musicians friend .. they have an 8 channel version as well for an extra $100. I paid just over $700 for the mixer, 400 watt speakers , stands , 4 mics, and cables ... the sound is great and there are many built in effects .. I would recommend this system, it sounds great and is affordable!
Good luck!

I have been playing part-time pro for 25 years. Peavey gear is the way to go. Check out their powered mixers, they ar always reliable and sound very good. Good luck in your music career-Later Fisherman Bob :D

Try a pair of JBL JRX115's and a Yamaha 512sc 500x2 powered mixer.
For a trio, this little system will rock you.

I just bought a Yamaha system from Musician's Friend & I'm very happy with it. It has a Yamaha EMX 212S head, 2 Yamaha BR12 speakers, 2 Nady mics (58 look-alikes), 2 speaker stands, 2 mic cables, & 2 speaker cables for $765 delivered to my door with a 2-year warranty. Not sure why they didn't add the mic stands as well, but I'll still give it a thumbs up.
