You seem to be plenty busy, so I dont know if you 'need' to renew.
But stick around for awhile.

I only hang out here on the forum and reply to pm's. I've never paid or pm'd anybody.

I read a post a few days ago saying that a site like this with employees could cost around $500,000. I beg to differ. (Message since gone). This is a CMS content management system that is run by a database.

That said people who pay can upload large chunks of files that play havoc with something called bandwidth and web space. Basically how many hits a track/page/content gets and the chunk of disc space your songs take up.

I have no problem at all with Bandmix, I think it works and people are very friendly both in support and here in the forum.
What I do think needs to change is the pricing strategy to encourage more new people here.

The most often quote I see is. "Post some music to your profile".

This site is one of the most open I belong to and God forbid that changes because I really do like it here and will pay when the time and finances allow. I do think however that a NEW pricing strategy be implemented. The world has changed in a lot of ways, not least with finances.

Just a thought and no offence meant to any mod/member/owner or reader intended, this is a good place and very well run.

John, my renew is up as well.
I intend to renew as soon as I can, for both Bandmix and Vista.
You and many others is why I will renew.
I have learend so much. About music and about musicians.
I have enjoyed some of the best original and cover music available right here. I got some bad assed tubes for my amp from shredd6.
I miss hearing from Craig. I would miss hearing from you as well.
Ive had a place to vent and to gloat. I just dont have many musicians or people around who can understand what we go through for our passion.
What ever you decide. Thank you and God Bless!

I'll chime back in..........................

Its not really the money, its more what do I get.

I like bandmix, its been a place to post up music, meet other musicians from all over, and share things youve learned in the business.

I can just revert to a free account like I did for the first yr and a half that I came here. I felt that if Im going to use the place I should participate economically. Most of the other musician sites Ive been on tend to cater to younger musicians than I am. They call you stuff like old fart and on and on. This place seems to have more mature folks on it. Well most of the time anyway!

I paid my account also so I could upload more music and actually pm folks. Ive made quite a few local musical contacts from this site. So all is good.

We will see, but lately Ive been getting into a lot of local musical scenes in my area. When I started here I was trying to get back in to the music scene and didnt know where or how to start.

The one thing Ive learned is that if you really want to play then you have to get off the couch and go participate. Sitting on the computor all day on here is great for yucks and chuckles but unless I physically get out there nothing is going to happen. I crack up at the folks that think because they came to this site that they will automatically get signed to some band or automatically be accepted to some gig. You might meet some fellow musicians but unless you have the basic chops and the will to go out into the world you will be very frustrated.

Im lucky Im in a great band again that I started 20 yrs ago. We have gigs offered to us constantly. We are playing about 4 shows a month which is all I can really do with all the other curves that life throws you.

I guess I'll get off the soapbox and just tell my fellow bandmixers Merry Christmas and if you want to play get out there and play.

C-Ya soon

I have been successful hooking up with other local musicians in the course of the last year. I have always had a non-paying Band-Mix subscription. I harbor no guilt for being a cheapskate, because paying premier members contacted me. I now look into my profile from time to time ever though I am not presently looking for any band mates. Since our drummer moved south, I am not currently playing out. I'm under pressure to finish construction on my new house, so the only contact I have with other musicians at this time is on this forum. I too feel a repore with Y'all.

After I'm again at liberty to reform "The Gin House Rockers", I will most probably pay up so I can contact potential band mates.
I have also given a great deal of thought into creating a Band-Vista web page, when I get a workable band up and running.
I think it's a good deal, and I'm looking forward to checking out George's "Noisey Kung Fu" Band-vista website!

I have now enjoyed yackin' and listenin' to people on this site for a year!
Remember,"Every ones trip is different"

I'm fixin' to keep on hangin' out with ya'll! :D

My paid membership is expiring in two days. I'm signing up again. I constantly message new musicians who list blues as one of their favorite genres. I think it's worth signing up again. I enjoy the forum. It's kind of reassuring to hear that musicians are pretty much in the same boat I am. We all have our ups and downs. It's nice when you hear about the succcesses and failures and most importantly what's working well. I very much appreciate everyone's contributing something here. JW, you don't necessarily have to pay but I appreciate your input to the forum. You've got some great ideas how to run a band and make some additional money with it. And your knowledge of equipment I would imagine has helped a lot of other people on here. Later...

I'm currently paying right now, but begrudgingly so. My band has been looking for a singer and I figured that since I wasn't financially hurting (this quarter lol) that I could contribute.

I will probably cancel soon though. Bandmix has a disfunctional free/member services ratio when considering the annual dues. Suggestions get acknowledged, then forgotten. I've been here almost a year and nothing has changed. If it were not for this forum and you guys in it, I would probably be long gone. I can link my myspace page in my sig file on ANY free musician forum.

This forum beats the hell out of harmony central or any other 1000 times busier forums out there, just becuase it's more people who do it, rather than pose it.

merry xmas all :)

Gee, Tthe way we meet and greet those with no music on site.
I cant imagine why those not "doing it" at some level, dont stick around.
The band and I, currently are working on new material AWA poishing on the older stuff. It,s been a while since we layed down any sets or played out.
I'd like for us to get out some, but for now I am really working on fundamentals as we break in new member.
