I should preface this by saying that I know, as working musicians, we've all had the best & the worst of food stuffs as we travel & play. So your opinions matter. Add to that the fact that, since we're all musicians, we must therefore have great taste by definition.
So the question is - How do you prepare the "perfect post-Thanksgiving turkey leftover sandwich?"
I use a good bread base, slightly slathered with mayo (this is one of the very few times I ever eat the stuff, myself), add nice thick slices of turkey, salt & pepper to taste, & the coup de grace - jellied cranberry sauce (not that cheapo store-brand crap, either! it's gotta be Ocean's Spray or nuffin!). This is the 1st time I ever tried it with a pumpernickel, but it's still an old family classic that has withstood the test of time.
A close second is the turkey/leftover stuffing with swiss cheese.
These are cold sandwiches, of course. I never considered those "hot gravy-coated sandwiches" to be real sandwiches, anyway. A sandwich is something you can eat with your frikken hands!

Oh man . Thats REAL easy for me to answer. Take whole turkey, with out bread, open door, pitch turkey out into yard for dogs to eat. THEN , fix pizzabread with pepperoni ,mushroom,nannerpepper,black olive,and krafts 4 cheese mooserella.NOW, isnt that much better than ole tastless turkey?

Now dont get mad, I am a working musician and you said MY opinion mattered...

haha I'd stick the leftovers in the oven for a bit and do a mix of your ideas. Instead of the cranberry, I melt swiss cheese on top of the first slice of bread.

Well, now I'm gonna have to go xperimenting with everything in the fridge. Turkey, mayo, bacon, ranch dressung, flatbread (kinda stale)/ Ate burger patties w/ sauteed mushrooms last nite just to have some beef relief and get away from the poultry for 1 day..lol..

The wife convinced me to go out "window shopping" on Black Friday. Now I gotta ask you, after going, have I shown her true love or what?!?! Then, of course, we had sushi.
Today, on Sunday, by my family's tradition, I'm making the attempt to recreate the entire T-day meal. Fresh rolls, fresh stuffing with giblets, fresh fruit salad, asparagas, reheated turkey & pie...I feel like a regular Martha Stewart.

take a big pile o that turkey from the bowl, and give it to your dog. then go to a diner n have breakfast.....Gobbler's Day is over..... enjoy your day

I always go way overboard - & by overboard I mean I may as well be in a completely different ocean than the boat I've fallen from - when it comes to food & the holidays. I bought a 25 lb turkey. There's just the wife & I & sometimes my son & the baby...jeesh! You'd think that I might learn one day.
Oh well...tomorrow it'll be turkey soup & sandwiches...& the same on Tuesday & Wed & maybe even Thur...
Can't wait for Xmas! I'm planning on something even BIGGER!

Vital post feast magic ingredients might include,
1) good homemade leftover turkey stuffing & gravy.
2) horseradish!
3)Guinness

( Cin makes the best homemade stuffing AND cranberry sauce. I have been considering cultivating our own cranberries for personal consumption back in our swamp.)

My sandwich would be without bread. It would be a plate of dark meat, low carb homemade giblet gravy, mashed turnips and collard greens and homemade cranberry sauce. Low carb pumpkin pie for dessert...Yeah boy!!!

Bacon wrapped filet mignon w/ salad, baked potato with butter, sourcream,chives and baconbits, mabya lobstertail on the side,.. oops, wrong thread.. eheh ..
