Here is another download that is NOT me. But I wanted to share with you something that I am arranging for flute choir, chamber strings, percussion ( timpani, djembe, rainstick ) and piano. It is this beautiful melody by Billy McLaughlin called "Coffee Break". It was written for guitar, of course.
It isn't ready but trust me, as soon as I complete this project, y'all will hear it. :o Even if I have to hire Geek Squad!!!

This also is not Billy Mac playing. If you read the important note at the bottom of the performers description of the piece, you will see that Billy is suffering from focal dystonia. He re-trained himself to become a lefthanded player so that he can continue his craft. Surf through and learn more if you want.

That is a pretty piece Mary. A bit of a snoozer to an old rocker like me but I enjoyed the listen just the same. (home ill today so it was a pleasant surprise as well)
I especially enjoyed the tap harmonics. I will be looking forward to your arrangement.
P.S.
If you need a little wake up call I posted this months version of " HAD ENOUGH " on my site.

I am glad that you like it. I forgot to mention that I know Bill M. I had a few opportuniteis to jam with him when he toured in Ohio  .

I immediately listened to HAD ENOUGH while I was folding laundry, today.
I like that also. :P Folding laundry made me stay in one place to listen to your other hits  as well.

Hits?
You are too kind.
I will be glad when we have some recordings of our more mellow, "purddy" music for you guys to listen to as well.

Billy Mclaughlin of Minnesota wrote it.Did you click on the other links that were listed? Helms Place, is actually being played by him. I heard billy in concert several years ago when I lived in Ohio. I approached him the first time I saw him in concert and asked if I could sit in with him the next time he played nearby. He just said yes. So pretty much everytime he played in the area, I played with him...it was a grand experience. I consider him the musician's musician because no matter what type of music you play, you will be awestruck by him. After moving to California, I realized I had left all of my Billy M. tapes back in Ohio. I tried contacting Billy through the internet and, for years, there was nothing about him. Well nearly a year ago I found his website while looking for Bobby Mcferrin. There I discovered that he has focal dystonia which nearly ended his career. He took about 3 years to relearn the guitar as a left handed guitarist. So, to make a long story short, I contacted Billy through his website and asked if I could make an arrangement of "Coffee Break" for flute choir. He remembered me from back in the day, and said yes, I could do the arrangement and that he wanted to hear it upon completion. In the meantime, I took the arrangement to my composition professor and he asked me to have it performed at the allumnus concert.

It would be cool if Billy Mclaughlin could hear this arrangement. Actually, it would be cool if the bandmix regulars could attend this concert.

I eagerly await your version/vision of this sweet lil piece, Mary.

Giving the powers that be a good word for Billy's continued success & ability to play & record & write, as well.

Listen to some of his samples with his band. I played with him in concert on All God's Children. Of course I am not on this recording so you will have to just use your imagination. :?
