Bandmix - getting responses when contacting members?

My band has been looking for backup vocalists. I joined Bandmix to try and find some in my area. Found a whole bunch!

That's all well and fine but I sent contacts through Bandmix mail to them and out of nearly 30 e-mails sent one week ago, I received only one response.

When you send an e-mail from Bandmix does the person actually get it in their personal e-mail box, or at least a notification of it? If it just goes into their mail page of their account then they will only get it when they log in to Bandmix, which is not very efficient.

Comments?
Russ

I have always gotten notification whenever I have gotten mail in my BM e-box, through my personal email. I find it to be plenty efficient.

Lotsa ppl simply don't respond.

There is a lot of dead wood on this site.
Bandmix should delete accounts that have been inactive for 6 months.
Or - how about deleting the accounts that haven't had any music posted after 3 months?
.
That would clear out all the groupies, and leave just musicians . . .

It has been some time since I attempted to contact anyone in regaurd to a band position. Best I remember 30 to 1 is about right on the odds.
However I have contacted many of the musicians fronm the Froum via the message system, and to date all have responded.
Enough dead wood to build one hell of a fire for the New Years Gig.

If you haven't paid the fee after a short period they don't notify you via your personel e-mail. Some people who were seeking a band or musician and found what they were looking for let their account expire and stop getting the notification via e-mail, thats what they mean by deadwood. I know because I did it. We had a drummer leave I put an add up found a new drummer and let the account expire. 6 months later another member of our band leaves and I reinstate the account only to find some e-mails in my mail box that responded after the account expired the last time, one of them turned out to be an old friend I hadn't talked to in years. So I have been paying the 3 months at a time. this next time I will be paying a year at a time. No more worries!

If I pay the $10 to contact somebody, but they have a free profile, will they get any notification, at least a message in their mailbox? Will they be able to respond without paying the fee? Thanks

Yes. Free members may respond if they wish without paying the fee. I know because I've done it numerous times, myself.
