Hey people !

Along with the 'Pay The Band' advocacy group (http://paytheband.blogspot.com), Gigdoggy (http://gigdoggy.wordpress.com) is setting up a crusade to amass and collect as many of the following:

Worst venues:
pay to play venues, lowest pay venues, venues with the toughest club owners, with the worst promoters. And all the other reasons that made you hate a particular venue.

Best venues:
The venues that constitute the exact contrary of the above.

We are working on creating an extensive list of these types of clubs, so any info is very welcome (name of venues, address/contact and short review etc.)

Warm regards.

Logged on to your paytheband.blogspot.com. Just a word of caution: BE CAREFUL. Opinions ARE subjective and if this results in LOST BUSINESS for a venue that can be PROVEN LEGALLY you may have a PROBLEM. I cannot agree with you more about us musicians getting routinely ripped off. The sad state of music today is that performers in general are getting little or no compensation for their HARD WORK. Right now there are TOO MANY people trying to play in TOO FEW places and the venue owners know this and are ripping us off. It is simply what the current economy will bear. To reiterate BE CAREFUL. I would be having an attorney look very carefully over this website if I were you. There was a negative comment about my home service business on a national service website that really pissed me off because it was false. I threatened them with a lawsuit and they removed the negative comment, but I was SERIOUSLY threatening a lawsuit. Just BE CAREFUL my friend...

yeah, I am concerned about subjectivity...

There is a way to build up this list, I'm sure of it. Tons of clubs are abusive in regards to bands.

And tons of them are great. We would want to isolate the extremes in bother fields.

Ok so this is way to general so we need to get more specific.

Now lets try something else.

Do any of you here know any pay to play venues?

Thanks
