I've seen Black Dahlia Murder several times, and a few of the other bands on your list at Warped Tour, etc. It would take a LONG time to post all of the music in my collection. It goes back forty years and spans several genres.

I listen to just about any famous blues artist, old time Christian music, old country and bluegrass, meditative (zen) music, classic rock, etc. My all time favorite blues artists are Freddy King, Junior Wells & Muddy Waters.

Mostly classic rock, and some blues here and there.

Pink Floyd and Jethro Tull, Tom Petty, Dire Straits, Van Wilks, John Hiatt (incredible songwriter, wrote a lot of hits for other people including My Runaway [Bonnie Raitt] and Confidence Man[Jeff Heally] and Riding with the King [BB King and Eric Clapton]), Robin Trower, Allman Brothers, Johnny and Edgar Winter, Steely Dan, Led Zeppelin, Early Electric Light Orchestra, CSN&Y, Eric Johnson, ZZ Top, Doobie Bros...the list goes on...

I listen to the voices in my head, & they've told me several times to keep mum about their messages, lest ppl start to look at me funny. I have been caught answering them a time or two, & I think they're right.

I have no radio in my vehicle. Haven't in the last three, as a matter of fact, & it bothers me not at all. Always worried that I'd be too influenced by the stuff I hear when I write.

I haven't written in a long time, though. Maybe I should listen to something for a bit of inspiration?

As far as my music collection is concerned, it's a bit all over.

Jethro Tull
Marillion
Phish
Nektar
Peter Gabriel
Fresh Aire
Tonto's Expanding Headband
Monkees
Beatles
Chris Isaac
Boxcar Willie
Johnny Cash
Train
Steve Goodman
Dead Can Dance
Chumbawumba
Waterboys
Cake
Beethoven
Wendy (Walter) Carlos
Clash
Steve Miller
Renaissance
Not Drowning, Waving
Fixx
Al Dimeola
Chick Corea & Return To Forever
Talking Heads
David Byrne
David Wilcox
Cat Stevens
Harry Chapin
Bruce Springsteen
Goo-Goo Dolls
Pete Townshend
Who
Guess Who
Grateful Dead
Cindy Lauper
Suzanne Vega
Michelle Shocked
Red Peters
a few local acts you never heard of & prolly never will

That's the stuff I've listened to over the last 5 or 6 years, if my collection of CD's & tapes in here is any indicator. I have more in the basement that I haven't heard in a long while.

Addendum;

Lately, after the wonderful acquisition of my grandson, I've become very well reacquainted the classics. You know, "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," "Old Mac Donald," "London Bridge," etc, but unfortunately they're all played on the beeping midi-sounding toys that my son keeps bringing over!

Didn't know the Mason Proffit "Wanted" album was available on CD, and you're the first person I've met since the 70's that actually knew of them. I played "Two Hangmen" as part of my solo set list for years, great song.

Ditto for Captain Beyond, that's an old favorite, I still have a vinyl copy but have never seen it on CD.

Just might have to look for both of those if I ever get back on my feet and can actually afford it...

Hell yeah, Paradox. UK was awesome. I saw them open for Jethro Tull; Holdsworth had already departed and Bozzio had replaced Bruford. I remember he had his cymbals hanging from the ceiling of Olympia Arena (where the Wings used to play) on long ropes. Atomic Rooster was Carl Palmer's first group, as I recall. I loved Mick Abrahms, I'll have to track down that album.

Brings back some names I haven't thought of for a while...

Eddie Jobson - Same Jobson that played keyboards/violin/mandolin on the Jethro Tull "A" tour? Excellent player.

Captain Beyond - an old favorite, the first real supergroup, remnants of Iron Butterfly, Deep Purple and Johnny Winter's band. (Rhino, Lee Dorman, Rod Evans, Bobby Caldwell.)

Don't see too many people familiar with Tragically Hip, and actually "New Orleans is Sinking" is the only song I'm familiar with, but it's a good one.

I don't listen to music much any more either, I stopped listening to radio at all 10-15 years ago when I just got sick of hearing the same few songs over and over ad nauseum, and just don't seem to bother with cranking up the stereo here at home, so now about the only time I listen to music is when I'm learning songs for a band. That will be my main focus for the next few weeks though, looks like I might be loading up the grear andmaking a road trip before long...

The "A" tour was the worst Tull tour ever, imo, & yeah, Jobson was a member at the time.

I like the Tragically Hip, but I have only one CD to go by, & I dunno why I missed it above...that song isn't on it, though.
