The first is the 'ballad of John and Yoko". The second one is just a much better sounding version of my last song "'talkin' about me" thanks for the support and helpful critiques you guys and gals always give!:D More critiques are always welcome and appreciated.

Yeah !!! Good job on both!!!...MUCH better vocal control and timbre on the original than in the first draft. That organ was killin ya in that one. Dont really like ITS tone for that tune.Too "tart" IMO, stands out too much.Yeah , you could also sense more emotion this time in your vocal too.

Kidd, remember I mentioned the mp3'd compression? Man,.... that is the same video not so compressed! Same performance, audio track, and everything. Thanks for the response. I'm interested to what Craig says.

Ok

Watched the first one. John and Yoko

Loved it!

Video was genius. Perfect for that song's feel.

Know what would have made the video perfect?

Driving where some people were milling around and catching their natural expressions when they saw you guys playing on the back, and maybe even stopping in front of some, and getting off the back onto the sidewalk and singing to them directly, which would make them laugh or blush and would have been a priceless addition to the laid-back homey feel, with everyone, including the new impromptu "fans" smiling, lip synching with you maybe, and just having a good ole time!

And I didn't catch what was being said at the end, the discussion between you guys. Is it not meant to be understood, or am I just not hearing it right?

I liked how you ended it with the talking and car engine..

Why didn't you make a cute joke at the end though?

Maybe...

"If you don't like the way we play, stay off the sidewalk!"

Or...

"WooHoo! Once more around the park Charles!"

I'd think of something funnier but my brain is not functioning right now. LOL

Haven't been to sleep in a few days now.

Ok,

Let me go check the other one out, then I gotta go get a few hours sleep!

Hey Paul,

I just realized that I promised you something a long while back and I got distracted and forgot to do it. I was gonna post a bulletin on MySpace to help you get more views for one of the videos you were trying to bump up that week.

Damn I feel bad.

Sorry bro.

I want to make that right if that's cool?

Maybe get some of our fans to sign up with you on MySpace?

If you have any special vids you want me to repost on MySpace, just let me know. I won't let you down this time.

Hmmm, well, All I gotta say is that my ears told me that was a different mix altogether.I even remeber those places Id told yya I noticed it most and they seemed fine??? That damn organ was in tune???BUT, man Ill tell ya, that clears up some mystery on MY end here..This damn sampling, compressing, does something to these wavs boys ..Its not natural..Yeah, Im sittin here messin with MY compresser and can make my vocals sound pitchy when I know damn well there not (in that spot anyway.. )..Well, all can do is tell what these old seasoned ears hear.I fool myself sometimes with digital...Its not nice to fool Father nature...Im gonna come up there with a damn reel to reel and by GOD IT wont lie... ..OH DEATH WHERE IS THY STING. ..I feel like that old guy workin at Mc Donalds and the youngins put kick me HARD sign on his back and He's cluelass..

Well I have to say it makes me feel better. I thought I was on and that the organ was too. I was influenced by the uncompressed track and feeling like it was on. Listening back to the compressed track it... I don't know maybe compression is not our friend. You guys had me second guessing my ear! Thanks for the follow up listen! And the follow up responses.

Paul, I really enjoy your work. It's poppy, & I grew up on pop. Your music has a lively happy energy that is lacking in so much that I've heard since the late '60's & early '70's, which is why you simply must do "Happy Together"...LOL

Your vids are good, too. I might try to make them a bit more funny or surreal or entertaining in some which way so as not to distract from the music, but to either counter it with a weird scene that doesn't seem to fit the song, or a scene to enhance it in a story line or something. Difficult to do, & "commercial" in approach, but it would fit with the music & catch your attention more, imo.

I've never been a fan of the simple lip-synch in a strange setting. Either make it live or give me something entirely different to watch as I listen.

Check out some of Mike Nesmith's vids to see what I'm talking about at his videoranch.com site. (I especially like the "Cruisin" & "Magic" vids!) It doesn't take a lot of money to do what I'm talking about, either, if you use your considerable talents & creativity to do it. (Hope I'm not sounding too critical, here. Just trying to help in your development.)

Keep up the great work, Paul! I always like your stuff.

Hey! you could try a cover of "Cruisin'," too. There's a challenge for ya! (Note the plastic garbage bags blown by the fan as a backdrop in the original "Cruisin'" vid! Easy, simple, goofy, yet effective & cheap! And you GOTTA love those sunglasses, too.)

I love pop philby. I love happy hooky music so i appreciate that comment. I appreciate the feedback and the especially the video suggestions. I'm always looking to evolve (pun intended) I;m all over happy together. One of the great things about hanging out here is the suggestions for covers. I'll check out Nesmiths work for sure. Are you talking about Smokey Robinsons Cruisin'?

You are NOT too critical. I really appreciate everybody's input.

Nah, I'm talking about "Lucy & Ramona & Sunset Sam." Nesmith's own tune that's called "Cruisin'." I love that song, & it's about as dumb as it can be, but oh my, what fun! Oh, it might also be called a *gasp!* rap song!

"Magic," on the other hand, would challenge your falsetto to the max! Tough one, that.

I've never ever even had or used the falsetto, & it pisses me off that I can't develop it. Believe me, I've tried, even as a kid, & I used to get so frustrated that at one point, when I was around 10, I was hitting myself in the throat over this inability as I tried to emulate the Beatles & others.

Thankfully, I outgrew that, & have done my best to embrace what I CAN do vocally, but I feel very limited by it, just the same.
