So I was out and about yesterday, and I stopped in a Pawn Shop and ran across a Fender Hot Rod Deville 410 for $300. It's in great condition, almost new.

I can't find my camera, but this is what it looks like:

Well.. You know what I did as soon as I got it home.. Re-tube time!!!

I threw in a preamp concoction that looks like this:

V1 Mullard ecc83
V2 Siemens ecc83 long-plate
V3 Mullard 12ax7a/7025a

=C= 6l6cg power tubes

Then I took it to our gig last night and tried it out.. UN-FREAKING BELIEVEABLE !!! These amps are perfect for Reggae. The 4-10" speakers really have a tight punch to them, plus you get the unmistakable tube tone that Fender delivers. When you play Reggae music you really want the highs front and center, and you want that quick SNAP of the chords to pop through.

Since we played outdoors, I used a little reverb, and Fenders just rule for reverb as well.

None of my other amps could deliver what the 4-10 setup does.

So I guess I found my main gigging rig. It covers all spectrums big and small.

Now I just need to get some casters for it. It is kind of heavy. But I just can't see using my other amps for this kind of music after hearing this one.

Sounds like a good find bro. Not familliar with that amp. How many watts are we talking about here. It does not look to be all that heavy. but looks can decieve.

It's a 60 watter Sans.. It's about 2 ft tall, 2 ft wide, weighs about 50 lbs. Doesn't seem like much until you have to lug it across a parking lot and through a casino. Then you're praying for wheels.

To put it in perspective, it weighs 1/3 of what I do.

It's a killer amp. I couldn't be happier with the sound. I was smiling from ear to ear on the way home with it. I can't wait to dig a little deeper into what it can do. But 4-10's for a clean channel is awesome. It's extremely tight, clean and crisp. Freaking clean channel heaven.

Cool, so it was an awsome grab.
It's good to see things going your way my friend.
There is a little Fender frontman in our shop right now. ( I think that was the model name)
I,m kinda watching to see if she comes out for sale. If so I will sneak my guitar in early one morning and check it out.
Neat looking little amp.
