This was so kewl I had to share it.I got this off of some kid for 25 dollars.
He got it out of his churches basement. Its a 1945 war era RCA PAhead/guitar head the capacitors were totaly shot I replaced all of them and a few resistors that had drifted out too far the amazing thing is that I found the schematics and the layout drawings for this thing on the internet!
It uses 6l6s and the original metal 6l6s were still in it. I used a type of pre amp tube that was pre 12a** series and has a sound that alot of audio philes seek.It put out about 25 watts clean anda screaming 40 dirty watts. Kind of kewl huh? I sold it to a studio for 300 bucks I think he got a deal!

This is a custom amp I built for those open mike /coffee house small venues
It a Fender 5E3 deluxe tweed circuit I had a chassis custom built and put the circuitry in an old line six spider 15 cabinet I enlarged the speaker baffle to to 10" and stuffed an Eminence Legend 1040 in it .I custom ordered the face plate from BMN lasers in Philadelphia and had my friend who is an expert at covering cabinet put this purty tweed on it (i swear it sounded better after it got its tweed)

I just gave away an Ampeg B12 for the simple reason that after 30 years of owning it off and on (long story) I simply couldn't lift it anymore! Darn thing is a boat anchor.

Great sound though.

Dane

I had a Thunderbird bass similar to yours back in the day. My brother played lead on a Firebird. We thought we were pretty cool! 8)

We ended up selling most of our instruments to pay for silly stuff like food and gas.

I eat better these days but don't have as much fun.

That's why I sold off my 2x12 Fender Bandmaster cabinet 2 years ago - at 90 lbs, no casters, just those vinyl handles, it was no fun to move. Even the Bandmaster head weighed more by itself than my new combo amp.
I would have had to spend about $120 to update all the tubes in the Bandmaster to get it back in good shape, and it still would not have had the overall volume that the combo has.

You have to have them at a site like photobucket, then you post the link/embed code.
