Just out of curiosity, what sort of headphones are you all using for recording/listening? I've used Sony MDR-7506s for a while now. I really like the sound of them for recording, listening to music, and listening to concert DVDs when I'm in the need for VOLUME and don't want to get an eviction notice! I've heard some people that prefer an absolute flat response say that they are a bit on the bright side, but I still like them.

I've been using an ancient (75 -85 ?) set of Radio Shacks for decades. They served me through thousands of recording sessions and thousands of radio DJ shifts. They are huge and I'm convinced you can tow a car with the indestructible cable. They have never glitched. Love them.

A cheap pair of JVC HA-M300. They're excellent though. Even the high end sound comes in clear and no noise.... oh and PHAT bass. It also blocks out a lot of the external sound.. be warned; you might not hear your doorbell or your phone ring :?

It doesn't light up in the dark and it doesn't rumble when the bass is higher, but I like it.

I have a pair of "buds" that I picked up at Dollar General for a couple of bucks! Works good enough for as much as I use them.

Back I my Studio recording days, I used whatever the recording engineer stuck on my head.

Back when I listened to vinyl exclusively, I occasionally would use a pair of "phat-phones" similar to the one Neanderpaul described. One of my most intense "aural experiences" was the first time that I listened to The Moody Blues "In Search Of The Lost Chord" off vinyl through such headphones!
