Cool guitar.

I played a nice Epiphone a few months ago that could stay in the room with that one. Played a bit of Ted Nugent on it, through a cranked tube amp, sounded almost identical. My Cort sounds pretty good too. I've been leaning toward wanting another hollow body.

Oh no...GAS...nooooooo......

People just walk around giving away guitars?

Yeah.

Best friend gave me that one a couple of years ago, and a relative gave me my Super Reverb that it was plugged into in that pic. It's sitting hidden behind me right beside the MX to my right. Electromuse lap steel made around 1945-47.

All right, the story is this friend was getting married and wanted our band to play the reception. I wanted to do it but the other guys in the group didnt for some reason. This guy has come to most of the gigs we ever did, was kind of a roadie for years. I asked him why he did that for free, he said well hanging around with you guys does have its fringe benefits.

Anyway I gave the other guys all the money for the gig so they would do it. I told Ted that my services were free cause I had to give the other guys all the money to get them to do the gig. Ted won this guitar in a radio contest 4-5 years ago and has said that he wanted to learn how to play it, and of course I always encouraged him to learn, but like lots of people he never took the time. So I go to the wedding and he says I want you to play my guitar for the reception, and I say sure anything for the groom.

We finish the night and I clean the sweat and beer off the guitar and put it back in the case. I take it to him and he says keep it. Im like what, he says its yours, I'll never learn to play it anyway, just keep it. So yea the karma is pretty good around me these days. His new wife has a 5 yr old son who acts like he might play guitar some, so I told Ted I'll keep the guitar and play it, and when the little man gets big enough for it I'll give him the guitar and some lessons.

A side note the guitar was set up horrible, the strings were an inch off the frets, it was a bear to play that rascal, I think we played for about 2 and a half hours. I took it to my guitar techie guy to set up, and it wil be a cool addition to the guitar stable, in spite of being hollow body it rocks. You can take it right to the edge of feedback and just control it with the volume control, its way cool. I like playing different guitars cause it kkeps you on your toes.

But he gave me the guitar for playing the gig, pretty cool.

Theres this girl or woman who is a friend on myspace that has a collection of SGs, Teles, and assorted guitars who says she is going to start bringing me a different guitar to play at gigs, Now how cool is that!

Treat people with respect and give them what the want and it comes back to you.

Wow! That is a POWERFUL guitar...seems to be sucking the soul right out of that poor boy. Maybe it should come with a warning label.

Flavor of the month? They've been around for MANY years...Not saying I like them, but a lot of people do.
