For those of you who like, and those who've not heard. Most recent practice recordings from NKF being loaded.
Take a minute to listen and tell me what you think.

Ok it's done for now. Just three songs out of about twentysix.
These are the tunes of ours we are working up for the studio.
We decided to hammer on them in blocks of three untill we felt comfortable.
Vicki wont allow me to post hers yet as she insists on a copyright first.

sans, dude, relax...sometimes life gets in the way - haven't been o/l much as I'm used to lately, & I'm sure it happens to other ppl, too.

Listenin' to the 1st, Noise Polllution, as I type. Starts off slow, but I like it. Very punky, if a tad long.

2nd tune, I don't hear the words clearly, but I like the emotion the singer has.

My Sweet - nice lil tune. Much better mixes than I heard from you before, man. I notice that you like to rush the drummer, though, when your energy level rises. He holds you beck pretty well, though. Did you record this a track at a time, or all together?

yeah the first tune is punkish. Reminds me of the Dead Kennedys. pretty cool. Are the drums real? They almost sound like a drum machine. The kick is non existent. You guys have definitely improved. The songs do need to be shortened imo. I like these songs more than the older ones you had posted. The vocals are a little unclear. the last track is nice. I was playing along with it on piano. Nice classic chord progression. I'm sure you'll be pleased to know that when it ended my 2 1/2 year old cheered!! Again you have improved! Keep it up!

It's hard for me to chill, the Mix dropped my post alltogether. It came up when I clicked see your posts, so I had to bump it.
(maybe I bumped it a bit hard  )
Steve is playing his electric kit. We had turned down the kick some while working up the Bassest. Glad you brought it up.I do need to bring the kick up a bit.
All tracks recorded right off the PA as we practice. We run a song then listen to it played back through the mains. (I really like the zoom H4)
We tweek sound a bit and run it again.
Yea Philby my inexperience shows when I get to bangin my head.
I feel its better now that I listen to the drummer and Bass and not just Ray.
Neanderpaul - I think of you at times as we do that song. Eric wrote that as a lulaby to his children a long time ago. He gave it to us to turn into the song you heard.
Thanks for the input.
My appology for being impatient.
Been working real hard to bring the level up to something you guys could appreciate. Despite genre' differences.

You're cool sans! I get impatient too. I posted a McCartney cover and nobody's given any feedback on it either. Hint hint nudge nudge

Sans, I'd give you a critique on your music, but, I don't follow that style of music enough to warrant any opinion on it. But - I'm behind you.

Hey Sans, Sorry I've been pretty busy the last couple of weeks and not visiting as much here.

I like where you guys are heading. The vocals are a bit cloudy, not crisp. The song Noise Pollution is kinda Cool punk, but ranges from my style so I can't say if it's good or not.

Sounds like you guys have improved a lot.

George,
Ray needs to hammer the vocals harder on the last two songs. More projection is required, so squeeze his nutz harder and GET 'IM BELLERIN!

I concur with the rest however, N.K.F. is kickin' and movein' forward.
Rip it up in the studio!
John

Finally got to check your songs out. You guys are getting there bro!

When will you get the studio stuff back mixed?

I am not sure Craig. We are leaving it all in the hands of the pushy redhead.
The only song we intend to do in studio this first time out is 1: John 2: 28 this is the song we are doing with Vicki.
Eric and Vicki are the only ones of us who has done studio work before. We thought it best to get our feet wet on her project and go back in latter with ours.
As soon as I am given permission to release 1J228 I will put it up for all my friends.

There are some good "guides" on the web that tell you what to do and how to prepare for the studio. It is WELL WORTH reading and following this advice, to minimize cost, maximize efficiency and get the sound you want. The vocalists need to read similar guides for how to get their voice ready, cause if it is not, then more time wasted and money spent for him to get back in an re-record.

The studio is awesome!

You guys are gonna be like "Woah... is that us?"

In a professional studio though, everything is ON THE CLOCK. Have the song crafted, including any overdub parts you guys may do. Think vocals for sure. The lead singer can harmonize with himself for that if necessary.

Can't wait to hear it bro!
