My name's Mike Hirst, and I'm the founder of indieunited.org. I want to invite all independent and unsigned bands and artists to unite in an effort to further each other's musical dreams and aspirations.

Indie United is a community of independent bands, music artists, and singer/songwriters with a common goal: to make music, perform, and make a living on their own - WITHOUT a major record label.

Indie United is a safe haven for the do-it-yourself musician. This is a place to share ideas and collaborate in the areas of songwriting, performing, recording, marketing and promotion. Our hope is that, although the big-business, CEO-run music industry may suffer and parish, musicians around the world will thrive in a society that has never been as endulged in music as it is today.

Hirst, I've looked at this a lot, & I can't for the life of me figure out what it is you're trying to do.

Unite to do what, exactly? Is this a site like BandMix? Cuz from what you said, it doesn't look like it could be much different than this site.

Are you trying to help ppl sell their music? If that's the case, it seems like you'll be becoming a music label like those you seem to dislike.

Yes, ppl are enjoying music now as much or more than ever but it's cuz the cost of music hasn't really increased while the supply has multiplied. I'm wondering how you're going to help me as an indy guy make more $, when the things you're offering are what I already seem to have right here.
