Fund in the Sun Music Festival

The show went very well, although we did get a little bit off time and wound up having to cut one act. David Stone's Johnny Cash Experience was a sensation, and Dani Lee Dawson nearly stole the show from Confederate Railroad. The crowd was not huge, but everyone who attended had a great time. Some money was raised for Operation Homefront, but not as much as we had hoped. Perhaps the 2nd Annual Fund in the Sun Music Festival will be more successful. Due to space limitations, we will be limiting next years local acts to only 12, and there will be ticket sales requirements for each act. You may start signing up now to get on the list.

WOW...Not only do you want bands to entertain the masses to give you better exposure in the music industry, but now you want the band members to do the leg work and sell their own tickets... You really are a fukkin' piece of work... shutthefukkup!

I saw that result coming a mile away. These new prop-up festivals have little draw on their own. Gotta advertise, get radio support, etc...

Ace, you've already accepted defeat by lowering the standards for the next festival. You have to work to make it bigger and better, and really get some advertising $$, or else it will end in epic failure. Judging from what you've said, it's already a failure and it's a year away.

I'd make a remark that is a little negative, but I don't want people crying too much. Too many bitches on this forum already.. (not an anti-female remark) lol

I think Kramer said it well. You are lowering the standards for your next festival. Shouldn't that be the convex?

How exactly am I lowering standards by requiring bands to prove they have a following before allowing them on stage? Every show that books local acts requires them to sell their own tickets for stage time, its industry standard, which from the sound of it, none of you really ever participated in. I am limiting stage time next year, and I am paying all the acts. If your act wants on stage, you gotta earn it. If you don't have a following established its cause you are not doing your part, and next year, I'm not giving away free exposure. Don't like it, don't try to get on my stage.

I spent $600 and drove 3 vehicle 4 hours to do the FRAUD IN THE SUN and did more promotion for the show than you did. my "payoff" for that was getting nothing but lies from you Mike! my set was cut short and somehow it was my fault? your EXCUSE was that you couldnt find me? there were 9 of us there and nobody in the place was more than 300 feet apart. you never did give us a time to go on and you didnt give us the green room for a half an hour to warm up like you promised. I'd say it was pay back for exposing your lying ass in this forum!!! you promised all equipment would be there. (I had to dig and borrow what little we got) you put original acts before cover bands and a celebrity impersonator at your so called "music festival" and BTW fake johhny sucked balls. your just another hack trying to be somebody in the industry.

one of my fans made him refund her money because he cut us short, and she contacted the Gazzette and the local fox news about him as well!

P.S. and what the f**k were you doing riding around in that cart all day in that tiny place? were you that desperate to look important and seem like you were doing something.

You're stage....BWAAAAHAAAHAAHAAA... yeah you're real freakin' important

Any band that has to sell their own tickets to a show set up by a management is definitely either real desperate or really sucks a$$! It's NOT the industry standard you nimrod! The industry standard is you set the gigs up with the band, negotiate a set salary with said band and advertise the hell out of a venue that YOU represent. What the hell is goin on with all these places that want free entertainment just so they can boost their own ego's??

I'll never forget the time when the only way we'd get paid is by whomever said the name of our band at the door... just so happens the doorman wasn't there half the time and the other band didn't show up... The place was freakin' packed and I made it my business to approach the owner mid-show and tell him we've got a count over 150 peole in the bar and if we don't get paid for that amount of people, we were not only packing our crap up but were gonna make each and every member of the audience say they were there for "PANIKATACK"..... suffice to say, we each at least walked away with a C-note that night as opposed to nothing!!

I didn't want to point fingers, Hayden, but it was your 20 minute sound check followed by your complete 30 minute set that made me have to bump an act from the stage. Don't you dare say that you didn't get to play a whole set. You and your ego got more time than you were supposed to. I must say, that ego is much bigger than the backing it has. You are not invited back, so there is no problem on this end. Good luck to you, you'll need it with your prima donna attitude.

And Crip, if you actually read my post, you would see that the bands next time will be paid, but I'm not paying a band that has no following to sell tickets, so if your band wants a paying gig, bring your audience. Why is that concept too big for you? You want a paying gig, show the promoter that you deserve it. You and Hayden King are perfect examples of Ego vs. Reality. Your ego demands payment, but you cant back it up with a real fan base. I manage a couple different bands and I wouldn't expect them to get paying gigs if they didn't have a following to make the promoter money. Duh

Crip, you are the loser. i actually make money in the music business, you, however, have to cry to the bar owner when your previous contingency agreement isn't paying off for you. This forum is getting to be nothing more than any of the other loser forums for the music business. Hayden King's ego pissed off numerous bands at the show. He didn't mention that he never bothered to check the website for updates that would have kept him informed for the show requirements, nor did he bother to show up for any meetings we scheduled, and let me tell you, I can show you the emails where he practically begged to be the headliner cause he was sure he was better than confederate railroad or the johnny cash experience, both of which draw large audiences and get paid large amounts of money for their time. Hayden and yourself likely don't make at your day jobs what I make on a friday night in the music business. So @#$% you both, you will never be on my level.

If I am the promoter, putting my money into the event, then you better @#$%ing believe that is MY STAGE you dumb hick!

Dude..... If you're ever in NY...come on down to one of my gigs....There you can check out my fanbase..... didn't need a manager... didn't need to sell tickets, always book a gig when I want it.... You're asking people on this site who come from all over the country to bring their fan base down to you??? What are you??? a fukkin retard???? Think before you post.... If you need fans to come down to your town than post in your local area not on a bandmix site where people hail from all over the world, Poindexter!

20 minute sound check? dude it took 10 minutes for ME to get the gear that YOU promised would be there! and your lame ass stage sound man (and I'm stretching it calling him that) wouldn't even set a mic for my drummer who sings harmony. and half of your crew was apologizing for your stupid ass!

not invited back? roflmfao!
