Why Not Write Back?

Why do we pay this money for this great service and not respond to other members? If you do not like the person's profile tell them. I am very serious about my intentions and most of the musicians I have contacted have no activity in a month. Maybe I stink or you do not like the style. We owe it to each other to answer.[/code][/b] WHY NOT WRITE BACK?

you have to assume that most of the people who never respond are not paid members, I try to filter by only those who are active in the last two weeks.

Still get a lot of non-responders though.

My favorite is getting ahold of someone who is "commited" but you come to find out they are so busy to make anything work. Are you commited to music or not. Dont be stupid! Either youre interested in finding bandmates and playing or you would RATHER play halo all night. Whatever, thats fine, but dont lead me to believe you are commited.

Geeez..... I've always had a member of my band replaced in no time flat without laying out a single cent! Use your noggin. There are plenty of local sites that allow you to post up all different classifieds for absolutely nothing...nada....zilch... you will get a more promising result when you post in LOCAL craigslist, and other classifieds! So far I have replaced 4 drummers 3 bassists and 3 singers without missing a beat! It also helps to get the hell out to the clubs where maybe 4 or 5 bands are playing the same night... believe it or not, that attracts a lot of musicians who are scoping out band members themselves! I'm sorry... I find it demeaning and ridiculous to have to shell out $$$ just to find someone with similar interests....it's not a freakin' dating site for cripes sake!! :x

I respond to anyone who contacts me. However, I have contacted many members and I got nothing. One I was really, really, really interested in, and I heard nothing. So I just keep moving. If someone is uninterested don't dwell on them, we got a job to do. :?

I was about to cancel my subscription and tell the Band Mix folk why, then I read yours and many other postings complaining about the same thing.
I don't really get it. Band Mix appears to be a great sight and is set up well. This is why I signed up and gave them my money.
I created a profile over 3 months ago and did not get 1 single email, phone call or TM from anyone. Also, the Band Mix musicians I contacted via email from their profiles never returned any emails or calls.
It is just weird. Now, granted, maybe people saw my profile and were not interested. This is totally possible as it is basically like a dating website.
But the fact that other members wouldn't even reply to an email saying, "hey dude, we checked out your profile and are not interested." is just so rude. Perhaps it is a sign of the times?
So my suggestion to Band Mix is to somehow coax their members into returning messages from other members - even if it is a negative, let the other people know they are receiving the message. Heck, I wonder if the emails ever got to them? Is that possible?

Geez, it sounds like that one guy goes through a lot of band members!
Thank God for Craigslist. Just found a kick-A drummer who never heard of Band Mix. If I was a Band Mix owner or investor, I'd be concerned.

Enjoy success while you have it!

If you want to play music you have to get off your ass like Crip said and get out to where ever you want to play and meet people that are doing what you want to do. Since we got rolling again Ive had people try to get me to come play with them or wanting to join our group.

In my opinion bandmix is basically a social site, not a true place to meet other players. Go to Craigslist, music stores, guitar techs have always been great for me, our local drum shop.

Sitting at home waiting for an email is pointless. Im finding no problem meeting players lately, in fact i kind of helped a group get together recently just from contacts. Only now they want to open for us and they suck!

:) Jerry this is Anton. I read your profile and I liked "not your usual man". I'm looking for a pianist or keyboarder to accompany on my upright bass. I like blues and club style dance music. I like Phil Collins and Jackson Browne. I like to play in small clubs or piano bars. , I'd like to talk to you.
My number is 516 455 -7665.
Anton

Anton, are you aware that you responded to a post that is six years old already?
