Trying to decide if its an idea worth pursuing. My wifes son and I were messin around with this $50 junk guitar one night, I had a couple ideas and he can play pretty good considering he's only been at it here and there for 4 years.

Playing music with your wife's son sounds like a wonderfull idea.
But I'm not to sure what your asking opinion on bro.
I have attempted to get my wife and children involved in our band.
They all seem to have their own paths though.

Sans, I listened to your stuff on myspace, I like the music, not crazy about the vox, higher like brian johson would be better I think.

Thanks for the listen man. Ray is really new to the music world, He's only been singing for a couple of years since we started the band. He improves a lot as we progress. A lot of our music we have on myspace is a little dated. We are working on ironing out some of the kinks before we record again. Eric our bassest is the only experienced musicican in the group but we are all working hard to bring up the performance level.

I know the feeling, I didnt touch a guitar until i was 35, here and there I practise, it comes incredibly hard for me. But I only work on my own stuff, I dont know a single cover note.

It sounds pretty good, but its extremely repetitive and boring...

I like your other tracks though. They have a nice classic metal sound to them.

Keep Rockin,

-Ryan

I'd like to know what you consider to be well mixed.

Hunter, Take those tracks for example, it sounds like mud even though there is quit a bit going on. Lot of stuff is completely gone in mixdown.

Mr Strain, how nice of you to drop by. Yeah it is repetitive and ok boring. I was just trying to figure out if I should spend time on trying to finish it. I was thinking I would start working up some lyrics before I went back to work on the music.

Yeah, don't get me wrong. With some work, that song could be pretty sweet...It just needs more complexity. And yeah, vocals would probably finish it up nicely.

I see the potential of a good song coming out of it, like the G-tar work tone and riffs in between, if you do finish it hope you post the completed project.

Thats some heavy sh*t!!

In the first one it sounds like the guitar goes a little flat tuning wise to me. I didnt analyze it too close, but something sounds out of whack.

The second one with the cool riff, the guitar sounds real thin to me, It doesnt have any balls to it. Sounds like a preamp preset or something.

But overall you got some happenin stuff.

Does the young one want to play with you before you start putting something together? I guess I would try to look at the situation in the 3rd person. If you are an authority figure to this young man it might put you in a too friendly place with him.

Good Luck whatever you do and keep hammerin!
